Reviews Miltons Restaurant

Recently ate here, and was very happy with the quality of the food, the speed and quality of service, and the overall atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. The scallop dish from the a la carte menu was superb. The delicate flavours were perfectly balanced and I felt the portion size was appropriate. The main course of pan seared duck didn’t quite match the level of the starter, but was still very pleasant with the well presented vegetable accompaniments. The 5 spice dressing/sauce suited the other ingredients very well and the salad items were fresh and full of flavour. The dessert was really the star of the show. Although it was very well presented, I was at first underwhelmed with the individual flavours of the Black Forest dessert. BUT, then I started to combine them on the plate and was so incredibly impressed. I can honestly say that it was the best dessert I have had for, probably, a few years. The overall experience was very positive, and I would recommend this restaurant for a wide range of occasions/types of visit. I visited while I was staying in the adjoining Cantley House Hotel on a business trip, but the restaurant would be ideal for a couples visit or for a group of friends.

Lovely setting, not within Cantley House itself, but right next to it. Converted from an old stable the restaurant has lovely original features like the steel stable separators and wooden beams. Had an afternoon tea with free glass of pimms. Food was lovely although our Eton mess had gone off. When we asked for new ones we had an apology from the chef and discounted bill for the soured cream. Very enjoyable experience, reasonably priced, but still pricey at £20 per head for afternoon tea.

What an amazing place, and it was empty! So I got a great meal and a glass of wine with amazing service!

Great spot for Sunday lunch. Quite reasonable prices too for families considering that kids under 12 can eat for free. The roast beef was cooked nicely without being overdone and the Yorkshire pudding was suitably moist. There's outside seating when the weather is good and a small but serviceable wine list.

Amazing Sunday Roast. Great value for money. We didn’t expect anything like that in Wokingham but Miltons is a true gem. Excellent quality of food and nice barn atmosphere. Very busy on Sunday though which is not surprising. Beef was simply delicious.

We visit the Cantley House Hotel monthly, which is a great hotel. Normally we have a bar menu meal which is always excellent. For the first time we had dinner in Miltons @ Cantley House Hotel. The food and service were excellent. Two rosettes. My wife had a desert which she stated was the best she has ever tried. The Chef is doing an incredible job. Service was good too, well trained, good attention, very professional. Well worth a visit.

Fabulous afternoon tea. Food was amazing. Just a problem with the booking as we booked cocktail afternoon tea ( from online menu) and were told it wasn't available. It was a birthday gift for my sister as she loves cocktails ,so it was a little disappointing because of this.
