Really nice food! Ate their twice on a recent trip to Woking. Service was good until you want your check & are ready to leave. I agree tables are too close. Booths were nice and spacious however....
Great food and service, but tables too close together. Could hear everything the table next to us were saying.
This is a great Indian and Nepalese restaurant in the centre of Woking. Has a very pleasant indoor decoration and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
A good range of both Indian and Nepalese food is available. I was particularly impressed by their lamb biryani.
Of course, their food is available for takeaway. Worth a visit.
Great tasting food, slightly different choice of menu compared to a typical Indian restaurant. Service could do with a bit of refinement, e. g., when clearing away empty beer bootle, should offer another one (I did want another). It isn't just polite but helps the takings as well. In the same way, should offer dessert (not that we wanted any).
Not only that I am a chef, but I tried many Indian restaurants and take away. But this is by far the best Indian restaurant I ever stepped in. Amazing superb food and the service is great. The manager is a bright visionary person and I've seen how this place grew in the last 2 years. Top notch
Sensational food! One of the best Indian take-aways I've had!! (take my word for it when I say I've been to a few now).. we had two of the specials and they were both wonderful.. I was tempted to call them and say how lovely it was, but I was busy scoffing :D
Amazing food with nice relaxed atmosphere the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the menu they have a good variety of dishes vegetarian as well. Overall a great experience
Popped in here for an 'express lunch' offer for £6.50 per person.
For this you could choose from. Fairly wise range of curries with your choice of naan or rice.
The selection of curries for the price was good.
The lunch portion size was perfect for a light lunch. The food tasted excellent and looked very appealing, and it was well presented.
The restaurant itself was clean and tidy, yet quiet for a Saturday lunchtime.
I'd definitely eat here again for lunch if I again find myself in Woking!
When I travel outside India, I rarely go for Indian food. I love to try the local cuisine. During my visit to the UK, I was ready to follow the same routine but my colleague forced me to visit Thali Thali. I came here expecting the same old Indian food toned down to suit the foreign palates. But oh was I surprised, and pleasantly.
The food here is amazing. But even better is the service. Binod bhai is a great host and strives to ensure that the customer is totally delighted by the food and the service.
Everything is great here, whether it be meat or vegetarian dishes. I'd highly recommend the dum aloo, malai kofta and chhole. I'm a non vegetarian but I've stuck to vegetarian dishes when I eat here, simply because they're out of this world.
And finally, before you leave, do try the mango lassi. That takes the cake.
Vinod was my waiter he was a very well presented and polite person. It was mine and my girlfriend's anniversary. His customer service made the occasion more of a better evening. If I could give more than 5 stats I would
Greeted, seated and served in mere seconds by lovely staff who at no point rushed us and happy to explain food types with good knowledge and passion.
Food was amazing, flavours so varied and spice just right.
Lovely starter (mixed) and mains (too many to choose) but settled on a Thali with mutton and chicken and desert oh so lovely and fresh and sweet.
Couldnt recommend it more!
Dont want to visit any other resturant in Woking now.
A price for every wallet type.
Just go there and try it out!!
Excellent restaurant, 10/10 A+++++ we have been dining here for years and the service does not disappoint. They also provide catering as we own a few businesses where they have served buffets so on top this company has different capabilities.
When it comes to Indian food in Woking, this place is the best by quite some distance. I felt I had to leave a review so that people don't make the mistake of ignoring this quirky little restaurant. It's quite hidden and you'd miss it if you weren't paying attention.
Service:
Staff are courteous and make an effort to initiate conversation, even if you're picking up a takeaway. It may come across as a little contrived but if you think about it, they are really trying to deliver great service. The same cannot be said for the vast majority of eateries in the area. You could argue that they deliver the best service in the immediate area and you'd probably be correct.
Food:
I am not a connoisseur of Indian food. I don't even remember half of what I order from the menu. However, my taste buds really do appreciate the food.
Let me make this clear; Thali Thali does the basics better than anywhere else I've been. We can talk about sophisticated curries; their authenticity and closeness to the true essence of India; and the purity of the spices til infinity but if the rice or the bread is rubbish then it spoils the dish altogether.
I have yet to explore the menu in its entirety but the highlights so far are the Pishori Naan and the Keema Naan. I've ordered the same food items from just about every exotic eatery in the area and I can say, most emphatically, that Thali Thali's offerings are better. The breads are generously stuffed, with the Pishori being an infusion of coconut and mango while the Keema has gorgeously spiced, succulent and fatty lamb mince.
It's utterly indulgent food.
I remember recently at lunchtime, on a Sunday, I suddenly craved Pishori Naan. Thali Thali was shut and I went to another restaurant. I ordered £10 worth of Pishori and Keema (yes, I'm obsessed) and I can honestly say it was a waste of money. The Pishori had the odd sweet coconut flake and the keema naan as a crumble of mincemeat here and there. My friend, decided to complain and they gave us another piece of Keema as a consolation.
It was just as bad. Lesson learned: Thali Thali's offerings are unmatched, period.
Moving on...
The Pilau rice has some spices infused into it aswell and the results are striking.
You don't know quality Indian food until you've been here. I plan to try just about everything on their menu.
Their not exactly cheap, but they are cheaper than the other places I've been complaining about in this review.
5/5.
I've always been here as its local to me. Highly recommended, great food, all freshly prepared, hot plates, hot food, well prepared - great all round clean place to eat. Good price too with friendly staff
Great meal tonight. The thali options are lovely and Ruckel and staff provide a fantastic welcome. Been coming here for years and now tho moved away still come back every time we are in Surrey!
