Great landlord great atmosphere. And on a Thursday evening the Howe & Co chip van stops at 1930 and serves lovely fresh cooked fish, home made fish cakes. Mick supplies plates and knifes and forks for all

“It's alright I guess” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 7 December 2014 via mobile I've frequented this public house a number of times, however I felt it was time to review it. The overall feel is a nice one, asides from all the moaning but that's expected when you get a group of blokes together drinking (very expensive) lagers. TV is half decent, company half decent, the peanuts and crisp selection is divine, and the quizzes held are wonderful; although the kiwi quiz master isn't the easiest to understand it's always a laugh. The one drawback is the landlord, Michael, or Mick as he is more lovingly known. Yes, he's a very funny man. Yes, he runs the bar excellently. And yes his banter is alright. But, he's a right stingy sod. And also although I've been in there for years and years, first coming in with my dad, he always takes the Mick out of me. Asides from that it's an establishment well worth the visit, providing you like expensive beer and being verbally abused. The best pub in Woburn Sands, and one of the very best in the area. I come here all the time. Brilliant staff, and a wide range of drinks and bar snacks. Cosy inside, and heated pods for sitting outside when it's chilly. Also live music, featured events and food vans. I've never left here disappointed, and you won't either!

Absolutely loved this pub! After a long dog walk on Aspley Heath what better place to relax in this beautiful little pub. Wide selection of drinks and great little food menu, bar was packed with locals and the outdoor area was busy with walkers and dogs. The outside tables are covered with individual booths with heaters, lights, cushions and blankets. A must for anyone that wants a cold pint after a long walk. Definitely returning!

I'm one of the most frequently booked musicians that play at the Royal Oak in Apsley Heath, and it's always a riotous good time every time. The locals have well and truly got behind this place, and rightly so. They're all big characters and aren't ever afraid of getting up and having a dance, even if sometimes we all struggle a bit for room! 😅 The bar is loaded for all your alcoholic beverage needs including beers, guest ales, wines and spirits, and the pub also plays host to various food trucks and mobile catering units. In addition to live music, there's always an assortment of classic pub entertainment such as quizzes, open mic nights and even speed dating. Sure, it might not be the biggest pub in the county, but it more than makes up for it in character and popularity. Here's to many more wild nights at The Royal Oak! 🌳🍻

What a fantastic find - hidden away in the back streets of Woburn Sands this is a proper pub. No pool tables, no dartboard, no food, just a good place to sit and catch up with friends old and new. Do yourself a favour and switch your phone off when you park up (yes, there's a car park), you won't regret it.

The Royal Oak is an awesome pub. The outdoor pods are super cosy and the selection of sausage rolls and cakes are a lovely addition. Not a wide selection of beers available but for a pint after a walk it's perfect.

One of our favourite local pubs, visit at least once a week on our way back from riding or on a Saturday night. Super friendly and super helpful staff, nothing is too much bother and they will accommodate you where they can. Do super platters and have theme events. I just love the place

Very pleasant. Visited today on my son's 18th Birthday and we enjoyed some Sharps Atlantic and Doom Bar. My boy's first pint in a pub. Great social distancing, quick and efficient service in a proper pub environment.
