Love The Fleece. The staff were amazing, we stayed for a week & had nearly every meal there. The food was exceptional. Highly recommend.
It was an early dinner, rare on our own but I can honestly say the service amazing, food great and thoroughly recommend. Fixed price meal awesome. Do your arteries some harm the camembert to die for literally. Delicious

Have always been a big fan of the fleece the food unfortunately went downhill but under bruces reigns and the new chef its amazing again so full and happy staff were as always epic so much love for this place! Xx

Second stay here and even better than the first time!! Food is great, atmosphere is great. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Sunday breakfast is excellent and relaxing with comfy chairs and Sunday papers and great food and coffee. But best of all is the service and the warm welcome and banter!!!! We’ll be back again next year for sure.

Super Gastro Pub right in the centre of Witney. Our hotel restaurant was full so they and our taxi driver recommended the Fleece. The hotel (Old Swan and Minster Mill) reception booked ut cor us. Turns out they were fully booked too but do their best to accommodate if you have been recommended.
They have an extensive menu which all appears to be freshly cooked. I had Roast Beef Dinner for main and the beef was lovely and pink as I like it but don't worry if you don't, they ask first!
My wife had Smoked Salmon and Haddock Fishcakes with Chive Crème Fraîche and Rocket Salad.
I had the Cheese fir dessert with a very nice selection of three cheeses. I did have to ask for a few more biscuits but they were soon presented. My wife had the Wicked Chocolate Brownie.
In all a very good experience of both food and service. If you are in Witney looking to eat, do give the Fleece a try. You will not be disappointed.
A great roast dinner late on a Sunday evening. 8 mins before the kitchen closed at 9pm in fact. Quick service and tasty pork, excellent crackling too! I also sampled their own local bitter, Firkin Fleece, brewed especially for them by Greene King, well worth a try if you are in the area!

Sunday lunch for 3 people was really lovely. Excellent portion sizes everything was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were cooked superbly especially the carrots and parsnips. Even more surprised when our lovely waitress came round asking if we wanted more roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. Unfortunately we had to decline as the portion sizes we were originally served were just right. I was the only one who had the mini pud simply because they were serving Soltice cheese which I really love and find difficult to obtain in stores. Atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing, it was busy but not too intrusive. One could chat comfortably. Overall a lovely Sunday afternoon.
We stayed on a Sunday night en route back from a wedding. Lovely room, lovely staff and wonderful roast. We were going to have a quick meal, but ended up relaxing for couple of hours with food and great wine (sorry Fleece team for hanging around the bar / restaurant - but it was such a lovely place to unwind!) Would highly recommend - great from start to finish. Thank you. We're about to book in again!
Absolutely wonderful place. The room and breakfast were outstanding. The sharing plates were fabulous. Excellent range of wines by the glass. I would definitely recommend a visit ... to eat or a stop overnight. 👍
We had a lovely nights stay at The Fleece. It has a beautiful setting, overlooking a quaint green in a quiet part of town, and is full of historic character.
Check in was swift and informal, and the staff were bright, helpful and attentive. When we arrived, on a Monday evening, we were astonished to find the bar and restaurant full of customers, which is testament to the popularity of the inn both locally and with tourists. We parked in the car park at the rear, off road and very safe.
Our room was above the main restaurant but very quiet and well equipped for a restful nights stay. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom lovely, with a huge shower.
Our meal in the restaurant that evening was wonderful too, with great service. Breakfast matched up to the same standard.
This is a great place to stay if you are planning a trip to the Cotswolds or Oxfordshire, and we highly recommend it!
We stayed there for one night after attending a wedding in the area. The room was a nice size and the bed very comfortable. Had an issue with one of the electrical sockets not working, but not a major issue. Would’ve preferred a room with a widows instead of velux windows. Breakfast was ok, I’ve had better and much cheaper in other places. Staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.
A nice chilled place for a lunch with a friend. They acknowledged slow service by refunding our coffees. A nice gesture. Easy to park at Sainsburys and walk to Church Green.
We had a meal at The Fleece the night before our wedding with the entire wedding party (~20 people) using their private room. The service and food were fantastic, the price was very reasonable and they were extremely helpful with arranging the evening. Would highly recommend!
