Had a fantastic lunch today. Amazing service and fantastic food. Lovely to have such a great place to drink and eat in witley. Would suggest booking as will only get busier as it gets more popular.

We booked a meal here for our wedding anniversary and were so pleased that we had! The atmosphere was upbeat, the staff and service exceptional and the food and drink utterly delicious! It was a busy evening but there was no hint of stress from the staff who seemed really happy to be working there and it all ran extremely smoothly. Excellent and interesting choice of food which was cooked and presented to perfection. Next time we are in the area we will most definitely be booking again! Thank you staff at The Star for a wonderful evening.
First visit today with my Mum and received a very warm welcome despite arriving early and very wet!!! Food was outstanding. Both had oysters to start, so impressed with the way they were served and they tasted delicious. Burger and fish and chips to follow very tasty and good portion size so much so we couldn’t manage dessert. Will definitely re visit and highly recommend. Our server was also very informed, helpful and friendly. Didn’t catch his name but young South African gent. The whole experience felt very special. Thank you .

Excellent beers and whiskies, great food in the pub and the GOAT is an excellent street food addition for summertime, when you want something more casual. Friendly and attentive service on top makes this place a superb local.
Great welcome from the staff. A varied menu and plenty to choose from. Had the Roast Sirloin Sunday lunch and it was a generous portion. The Sticky Toffee pudding finished off a lovely meal. This is what a pub is all about!! Well done to all the staff.
We had a wonderful meal at The Star, the service was great and the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious and very quick. They unfortunately ran out of the dessert that I wanted and so instead Craig very kindly made a desert that was off the menu for me. We were very impressed and really enjoyed our meal, we will definitely be back!
We've recently moved to Witley and were excited to see The Star open after its renovation. We went today for Sunday lunch and it was absolutely superb. We last minute changed our booking to see if we could accommodate bringing our dog, which the staff did without hassle, even though they were in for a very busy Sunday. We all had a roast, including our 5 year old. The food was outstanding, every element from the main event to all the sides. The service was excellent from start to finish and we've already booked to return again.

One of the best Sunday roasts I've had. Every part was great, especially the Yorkshire puddings. The beef cheek pasties as a starter were amazing. Our table sampled a few of the puddings and each was so good. Prices are a bit high, but you're paying for quality for sure.
One of THE best Sunday roast that I have had, we will definitely be returning. The roast Chicken was a great choice and the beef looked really good too. Unlimited veg, what more can you ask for.
Was welcomed like an old friend. New starter was guided and aided with professional manners and the service was immaculate. It was great to see young staff being given a great chance. Thank you, it made my lunch with my son so enjoyable today.
Really wonderful evening at The Star. Beautiful menu which had a great selection for vege and meat eaters. Great service from Harry who was absolutely charming - the perfect balance of attentive without being overbearing. Great surroundings and excellent value for beautifully cooked food. One of the best places we have eaten in the last few years. Definitely a new favourite.
I moved to the area last September and once the star opened I have often gone there to work on my laptop, for quiz night, Sunday roast, or a casual drink or two and it’s always such a warm friendly welcome from the team. Craig stands out because he is so friendly and warm. He also knows the menu back to front and is fantastic at wine pairing. He knows his regulars and always goes above and beyond with his service levels. He is a real credit to the company.

We had the lunch time set menu. Service was really good and attentive. The venison cottage pie was probably the best cottage pie I have ever had. My wife had the flat iron and loved it. We are in the hospitality industry ourselves sp a little picky, we were recommended to try here by a friend. We will definitely be back and will tell the world how great it has become.

Amazing. visited on a Sunday for Sunday roast arrived at 18:00 and all roasts still available sat and ordered straight away as we were all starving after a day at Goodwood racing. Service excellent, roasts delicious, pudding also excellent 👍
Nice to see a lunch menu that includes dishes not offered on standard menus. The Brixham plaice with cockles and samphire, and the slow-cooked pork cheek pappardelle were particularly tasty. The service was friendly and attentive, which made lunch especially enjoyable.
Pretty good Sunday lunch. Good amount of perfectly cooked beef but let down by chewy Yorkshires and a lack of veggies and gravy. Service was excellent, attentive but not overly so.
