Visited here for the first time today for Sunday lunch. Lots of choice with the menu. Absolutely delicious food and generous portions too. No pinging of microwaves in this pub - good old-fashioned home cooked food :) Beautiful décor. Staff are friendly and service is perfect. Will definitely be back.

I went on Sunday 18th March with my wife and greyhound. A proper country pub, good beer, good food - and plenty of it - and great atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Just called in for a quick bite en route from Ulverston to Sandbach and we were delighted to find a proper old-fashioned pub with a welcoming log fire burning away. Food was fab too 😊

My family and I spent 2 nights there while visiting the Lake District. Lovely old pub, with excellent food; dinners and breakfasts. My husband loved the "Black Pudding and Haggis stack" so much, that he had it both night's Our daughter also had it the 2nd night. Our rooms were comfy too. Bonus was, I experienced proper snow for the first time. Staff are also great and very friendly.

One of my favourite local pubs. (Second only to the pub I work at 😉) Lovely warm atmosphere, friendly staff and entertaining locals. Good range of local ales and a Casque Marque member 👍

Super friendly staff and stunning pint of local IPA (name escapes me but it's brewed in Flookburgh). We played board games with our kids, read the menu and plan to head back for dinner tomorrow.

We stayed at The Derby Arms en route to our short break in Scotland. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the staff. We had our two dogs with us, they were made very welcome too! We had a lovely evening meal and a lovely breakfast the following morning. I had the vegetarian options and both were delicious. Nothing was too much bother, the staff were so attentive.

Lovely old pub! Take care where you sit in winter! You'll be boiled alive sat by the glorious real fires or sat in a draught by the old windows! Food lovely, staff very friendly with regulars but visitors are barely acknowledged! We will however be back, and prepared! Ideal lunchtime meeting place x Super dog friendly!!

I visited here with my family on Saturday evening (27/04/2024), we were greeted by a warm, friendly atmosphere, great local ales on offer, and the food was excellent, freshly prepared and very tasty. They have a kids menu which has plenty to offer them, we all really enjoyed our meals, they were reasonably priced too, i would definitely recommend it and go out of our way to go back.

A pub with rooms/hotel just off the main road. Very welcoming offering good food, ales etc. The room was dog friendly and spacious. The bathroom was one of the largest en suites I've experienced. I have no hesitation recommending this location

We had a fantastic meal tonight in the Derby Arms. We are staying near by for a long weekend and managed to book in. Table was reserved and ready for us arriving at 7pm. We were visiting with our two dogs so had to sit in the bar area but this suited us fine. It was busy but service was quick and staff were extremely friendly. I had the steak and ale pie, my wife had the salmon and my daughter the fish and chips. All meals were delicious, we finished with sticky toffee pudding. Prices are reasonable x only issue was finding a parking space but that just shows how popular it is. Hope to visit again soon x

Stayed for one night, room had everything needed and bed was very comfy. Very tasty dinner and lovely beer garden. The only thing missing would be more gluten free options for breakfast (no gf bread).
