Excellent food, staff and service. We had a fantastic meal last night, the portions were just right, the steaks & Gammon were cooked to perfection, exactly how we asked, the fish was tasty & fresh, prices were good, would definitely recommend a visit.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch the best we have had in a long time, would definitely recommend. Also the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning soon.

Went for Sunday dinner with my Love here for the first time, very tasty roast beef with all the trimmings superb gravy and couple of pints of real ale. Highly recommend. We’ll be back on a regular basis.

Excellent Saturday lunchtime meal - service was excellent and food was very tasty with big portions. I have coeliac disease and therefore need to eat gluten free including no cross-contamination, I mentioned this when booking and to the waitress and this was completely taken care of. The menu is labelled to show what can be made gluten free and there is a great choice. Thanks!
Brilliant service, brilliant steak, brilliant desert! Will definitely be coming again. We never normally have desert but after our Thursday steak deal we had to. Best place we’ve been in a while and great value. Steak was cooked just how we like and it came with complimentary bread. Can’t fault anything about this place.
Went to this pub with my friend and had a lovely lunch. I could see that the place could get very busy at some times, but we had a great lunch, so certainly worth a visit.
Was there for Sunday lunch. We liked the outdoor seating area and space. The location is nice and decent parking. Food was average, but we found the service to be rather slow and had to chase up our main course meals.
Have visited The Blue Lion Pub in Witherley a few times now and always had a fantastic experience. Great setting in village, the interior is spacious, well-kept, and provides a warm and friendly atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxing meal or drink.
The Blue Lion also features a beautiful outdoor seating area, ideal for soaking up the sun in the warmer weather. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Sunday roast, which was absolutely delicious. The quality and taste were top-notch, making it a meal I won't soon forget.
Finally, I must mention the wonderful bar staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Their attentive service truly elevated the entire experience. In summary, The Blue Lion Pub is a delightful gem in Witherley, offering great food, a welcoming environment, and exceptional staff. I highly recommend a visit!

Six of us visited on Tuesday December 13th - we decided on the weekday menu - the serving staff were excellent and efficient. The food was piping hot, very good portions too - the squid was amazing in particular, the mixed grill was HUGE ! but we all said the food was tops ! we all loved the wide choice on the menu - the puddings rounded the evening off perfectly ! We will sure visit you again at some point, hopefully in warm weather so we can all sit outside and enjoy summer evenings. Well done to everyone at The Blue Lion for making us all so welcome.
We had a lovely meal here, sausage and mash and swordfish. The staff were really friendly. If I'd a quibble, it would be the lack of ales but otherwise great food.
Genuinely some of the nicest food I have eaten, especially for a small local eatery!!! One of the best steaks I have ever eaten.... tasty and soft like butter! How do I rate this pub/restaurant 1 word! OUTSTANDING!!!
Lovely restaurant and the fresh flower centre pieces are a nice touch. The food was delicious and they were big portions. Live music came on towards the end of our meal and it was great! Would definitely go back
Absolutely wonderful food, great choice and selection. Staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. Environment is clean and cared for, a nice meal and time out had by all. Will definitely be back for more, looking forward to sitting in the courtyard in the sun!
Absolutely delicious lunch, with generous portions for a relatively low price. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the place felt clean and modern yet quaint and historic. We couldn't have asked for a better stop for lunch.

Booked a table and were seated immediately by the friendly efficient staff. Covid arrangements were first class. We ordered our meal and drinks within 5 minutes. The meals arrived within 30 minutes( 5 meals and extras) which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Portions were very good and the food was excellent, cooked perfectly and hot. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was fantastic 👏. Highly recommended
