Stumbled across this by accident when going cross country to Burnham. What a fabulous little country pub! The food was awesome (we all had roasts) and the staff were great. Look forward to visiting again.
Great food. Battered fish, calamari and prawn - batter was crispy and light . The seafood linguine was flavourful.
Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Couldn't fault anything. Highly recommend. Fish and chips were perfection, light and crispy batter, succulent cod inside. Very crispy chips with fluffy potato inside. Best we have had! Desserts were good too.

Three friends & I had a lovely evening last night. The food was very delicious, we had mushroom risotto, pie & vegetables & specials board venison & vegetables, then sticky toffee pudding, trio ice cream & apple crumble/custard. Pudding was so nice nearly forgot a photograph!! Th
The food was very good and plentiful. Well cooked and presented with a good choice. Service was friendly and efficient. Everything seemed fresh and local. An excellent meal out on a sunny Wednesday night. Recommend. Mixed meat starter; seared tuna special; sticky toffee pudding. Coffee was top rate.
Came here for Sunday roast dinner . Recommend the lamb excellent portion and very tasty.
We had the Sunday roast lunch and we couldn't fault it. We went there for my Husband's birthday lunch and was not disappointed. Crispy and fluffy roast potatoes, fabulous home cooked yorkshire pudding, excellent cuts of meat cooked to perfection, along with the veg, at extremely reasonable prices. T
Had lunch here today, such a lovely place. The food was great. We had Lasagne and The Green Man Burger meals with onion rings, and all the food was amazing. Staff were excellent and friendly. Would highly recommend and will return if in the area again.
Went today for the first time since they reopened and must say how amazing it was, lovely staff and great food! Like really great food! First time a place has told me the beef is served pink and is then actually served pink! We’ll be back ASAP to try more of the menu!

Food was delicious - we had seafood paella and wild mushroom risotto for our mains. Everything tasted freshly cooked and we sent our compliments to the chef.
Good range of choices
Real old pub where you can just have a drink or a light or full meal, food excellent top restaurant standard. Staff friendly and helpful. Almost loath to recommend in case it becomes too busy so I can't return!
This is a pub with a new heart and atmosphere and the perfect place for lunch with friends. Good service and great food are now the order of the day. Haddock filet wrapped in prosciutto was my dish of the day! Its a bit off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out. :)
Five of us went for dinner for my dad”s birthday. This was our first visit and received a warm and friendly welcome. The food was amazing, everyone left happy and full, compliments to the chef. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.
Delicious food and a lovely venue tucked away in the heart of the Essex countryside. A real homely pub. Great staff, good service. Fabulous food and a good selection of wines and beers. We had a great night out.
