Possibly the best pub in the area but certainly the best kept beer. Friendly and welcoming old school pub with a landlord whose attention to serving the best pint possible makes this a real gem of a pub. Whiskey collection is not half bad either. It’s a joy to drink in this pub.

Fabulous back street boozer, unchanged and who would want to change it? A great selection of real ale and bottled beers neatly displayed at the rear of the barn. With its own micro brewery I would recommend a visit

This place is easy to miss Hiden away on one of the quite back streets of wirksworth, but it's worth looking for, as it's a little gem of a pub with a good selection of real ales, as fresh as you can get. They have a stunning collection of fin malt whisky And a long list of other drinks that are available for people who don't understand what they are missing out on. They have a garden and a pool table and some very good chess players and good conversation is normal the order of the day.

What a lovely little pub, truly old school but the beer is next level. The pub has an open fire and sends you right back in time, the poeple where lovely right down to the bartender and the local lads and lasses just enjoying a pint or two. A wonderful chcarecter to this pub that has been lost though the commercialisation of most pubs in Britain today. A truly special spot, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

How a pub should be! Great atmosphere, great beer and Whisky! Check out the back barn and the great wood burning fire. Oh and ask about the beer mate in the premises, if you are lucky it may well be on the bar

Great choice of beer, friendly owners. There's normally a good range of beers from dark to IPA. There is also a stove so it's cosy. We'll worth a visit as it an unusual traditional pub. It's unusual as entering you feel like you are going into someone's house. They also serve decent wine, cider, soft drinks and also hot drinks made to order. If you like whisky Jim has a decent selection to choose from. This is not a pub to visit for a meal but there are normally decent things to snack on.

The Barman who served us was helpful and willing. I asked of they had gluten-free beer in stock. Hw said that he wasn't sure but would check the fridge at the back of the pub, which he did. There wasn't any so I had cider instead. The pub had a good atmosphere and their customers were friendly and accommodating. I would recommend it to anyone who's outgoing and doesn't mind a noisy pub.
