I struggled to choose between the full English or the American breakfast as they both sounded delicious. Decided on the American one and was not disappointed. Bacon tasted gorgeous eggs lovely, waffles and frozen yogurt to die for. Felt full for the rest of the day would heartily recommend. Now planning to return ASAP to try the full English. ❤️
Loved this place. Great welcome and just a lovely relaxed place to chill. Unpretentious tea room with straight forward menu and some sumptuous naughty cake.
Sour cow is a wonderful hidden treasure, such gorgeous homemade food and frozen yogurt, always has super different menus and not forgetting the fabulous owner Emma and super cook , always made so welcome and relaxed when we take a visit
Its the best place to eat, drink and chat. You just must try the chocolate spoon drinks.
Lovely friendly homely little place, that serves the most amaxing breakfast with the warmest welcome.
Lovely little place! A Warm & friendly atmoshphere as soon as you walk in! Lovely, welcoming lady 🙂 we had coffee & a massive plate of waffles with maple syrup & frozen yoghurt.
The price was so cheap for 2 of us! £3 each!! Highly recommended!
Great food in a lovely cafe with a friendly owner. The tea and desserts are great for grown-ups while the frozen yogurts are great for kids.
Amazing value. Lovely owners, very welcoming. Nice home cooked food. Baby and child friendly. Would definitely recommend. 5 stars 😄

Absolutely delightful place.
Lovely little cafe, I went in the morning and had a freshly baked scone which was delicious!
What a lovely cozy place. Quaint decor and such friendly cheerful staff. A breath of fresh air & sunshine is the vibe. The food was great. We ordered pancakes with peanuts and vegetarian breakfast, delicious! Coffee, and hot chocolate superb!
What a lovely cafe! We arrived late in the day, around 4:15. Despite it being the end of the day, Emma (who is a *delight*) cooked us up a tasty, filling, and affordable late lunch!
My wife and I split a carafe of French pressed coffee (dark and tasty), a toasted cheese and onion sandwich which came with a little side of salad, and the Vegetarian Breakfast.
The veg breakfast is two pieces of thick toast done to a light golden brown topped with scrambled eggs and sauteed mushrooms. The eggs were perfect, still moist and not overly firm, but definitely cooked through. The mushrooms had a light sear on them - delicious, and I don't usually like mushrooms. On the side there were some barbecue beans and a roasted tomato.
All of this came to £10.50! We left with full bellies and new knowledge about the area. Did you know there were once 72 pubs in Wirksworth?! We want to come back on a Saturday to try the Full English Breakfast (weekends only). Definitely recommend!
Lovely place, very kind staff. Will definitely come back there. Highly recommend this place.
This place has a new owner who is lovely. Looked after us and gave a very friendly welcome.
Really lovely, welcoming service at the Sour Cow. Good range of cake and hot drinks too.
This is my favourite place, the food is amazing! Highly recommend the French toast with banana and maple syrup, mushrooms and cheese on toast and the cakes are just delicious! Emma is so friendly, she works incredibly hard as a small business and she always has a smile for all her customers!
Good vibes and good coffee
very cosy and friendly eatery.
veggie breakfast is filling & tasty, good value!
poached eggs on toast were really good(slight amount of water, from poaching, on one piece of toast caused some sogginess but did not detract from the experience.)also good value
Tea is incredibly voluminous and excellent value.
Beware of the cakes, they're very tasty and home made and more-ish!
overall definitely worth a visit and excellent service/value.
Great food, incredible value - £4 for French toast with bacon and maple syrup! Really lovely staff. Small kitchen area so service is naturally a bit slow but very understandable - worth the wait. Has a large courtyard with seating too and were good with catering for my partner's dairy allergy.
