Update. 16 August 2023: Our experience at the Swan Pub, where I took my girlfriend for her birthday, was excellent. We are always very impressed by the quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere of the pub.
The food was fantastic. We ordered the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, the Mushroom and Ale Pie, which was cooked to perfection and had a rich and savoury gravy and the Wild Boar Burger, which was amazingly good. The portions were generous (though the burgers could use a few more fries) and the sides were fresh and tasty. We also enjoyed the dessert, the Caramelised Vanilla Cheesecake, which is the best desert on the menu, and it was so tasty and decadent. The coffee is also very, very good.
The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional. They greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. They checked on us regularly and refilled our drinks without being intrusive.
The atmosphere was brilliant. The pub had a cozy and rustic charm, with wooden beams, fireplaces, and candles/lights. The music was pleasant and not too loud, creating a relaxing mood (though this weird Jazz track came on that made me want to boogie.) The pub was busy but not crowded, and we had a comfortable table in a quiet area.
We would highly recommend the Swan Pub in Warrington to anyone looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a meal with friends or family. It is one of the best pubs I have ever been to and has been a part of Warrington for as long as I can remember (and my Social Security number is 1), and we will definitely go back there soon.
Visited here twice and both times have found The Swan to be a lovely place to eat. The service is welcoming and food has all been so good. I highly recommend this place and the cheesecake is incredible. Already looking forward to my next meal here.
Came here after work with a group of friends for tea. Food was lovely especially the garlic butter and cheese loaf...amazing and plenty for 4 to share. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall great experience. Keep up the good work
Good service and food. Had the steak and ale, decent chain pub steak. AA membership discount accepted here bonus.
Had breakfast here as a part of the Premier Inn deal.
The cooked breakfast was really good, came out quickly, and the unlimited coffee was surprisingly good as well!
Staff was lovely and the music was great/chill for the morning. I definitely recommend if youβre looking for a quick stopover.
I had a great time at the Swan! The food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy and inviting, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.
Our experience starting off not too good. We had booked a table for 4 for 2 adults and 2 children and when we arrived we were left stood st the entrance waiting to be seated. There was lots of waiting staff buzzing around but no one spoke to us. We therefore decided to go and choose a table as were told to return to the entrance to await being seated. Once we were given a table it was a very pleasant experience. The food was gorgeous and served piping hot. The waitress that we had was very efficent and polite. The kids enjoyed it and so did we. The final thing to mention is that the male manager was very abrupt and unprofessional. He spoke to his staff like dirt and even us as customers like we were a hinderence to him. Without customers he wouldnt be a manager. Overall i would still recommend the place as the food was good the venue is nice and its in an excellent location only minutes from the motorway.
All good, nice food, reasonably priced, decent atmosphere - none of the above are outstanding, but it's very good. I guess what prevents me giving it more stars is that it didn't feel like a quaint village pub, but a big pub-style restaurant.
Actually, got to mention the interesting food menu, they definitely made an effort there.
Had a lovely family meal this evening for my wife's birthday.
All the adults had the trio roast, beautiful meals.
Looked after wonderfully by all the (busy) staff.
Special mention for Grace for the super presentation of the birthday cake..my wife was really pleased ,thank you again ππ
Beautiful friendly service .meal was delicious π will go back
Beautiful place and great food.
Lovely place! Our first ever visit and most definitely didn't disappoint. Staff were absolutely amazing (sorry I didn't get their names) and food was yummy. Salt n pepper squid bit too salty for me but then I don't put salt almost on anything so... π

Starters - Mushrooms in peppercorn sauce & Salt n Pepper squid
Mains - Chef's mixed grill & Halloumi and chips (forgot to take a pic of this, I was too hungry πͺ)
Desserts - Mini Brownie and cappuccino & Mini Eaton Mess with green tea π΅ (these "mini" desserts are not so mini if you stuff yourself with starter and main π)
Even though we picked a proper grim day to eat outside, the experience was great and we will definitely be back very soon!
Thank you π₯°
Lovely pub for a pit stop.
Spacious for our pram too.
Accommodated us for hot water for baby bottle.
No cask ales were on at the time, which was what my partner wanted. But staff were lovely and offered alternatives.
Friendly staff and food was tasty and delivered in a good time. Only disappointment I had was that the dessert I wanted was out of stock and had to opt for something else but other than that had no faults whatsoever. Would highly recommend.
Lovely building. There appeared to be a change of staff midway through our meal. The first member of staff who took our order was friendly and the starters arrived without too much delay, however I think there must have been a shift change because we waited a long time for our second course which tasted as if it had been sat for a while before being brought to the table. After we finished our main meal we then waited quite a while for a member of staff to ask if we wanted anything further. After desserts which arrived quite quickly, we then had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. The starter was lovely, the main course was mediocre.
Nice meal, good choice. Staff very friendly & polite. Enjoyed, but food was very slow to arrive.
An absolute delightful stop on way up to Glasgow. Lovely quaint and quiet respite from the busy motorway . Great meeting with friends from other parts of the country. The food was Devine. Travelling with friends who had known about it. Will defiantly visit again soon.
Served by a young gentleman who was extremely busy as the pub seemed to attract lots of walk ins due to the sun. Freind and I sat in raised area of the pub in the front window. Service was brilliant and attentive despite it being really busy. Food was great off the chefs specials, higher end pub food definitely good value compared to the standard pub grub. Excellent service and food.
