A friend had a big birthday coming up and the Ivy at Windsor is a safe bet for any special occasion.
Although the table wasn't quite ready, (we were early) we were quickly seated in and drinks order was taken.
Staff were happy to explain items on the menu and make helpful suggestions or advise on which items would go well together.
Although there are several vegetarian options on the main menu the Ivy offers a separate vegetarian and vegan menu if desired.
Great care is taken with the presentation of all dishes and every dish has a wow factor.
We recently went to the Ivy, Windsor for afternoon tea. On arrival we were warmly greeted and taken to our table close to the front window, with a view of the castle.
I love the quirky decor inside, it's very bright and cheerful.
We ordered our drinks and were served our afternoon tea fairly promptly. It makes an impressive entrance with dry ice smoking from the top! The waiter explained the contents and left.
The food was very nice but I personally think a full size cup cake is a bit much for afternoon tea and would have preferred two smaller items.
I would have liked some fresh tea at some point but we didn't see a waiter again until it was time to pay. It was busy in there and may have been an oversight but it would have been nice to have had it offered.
A lovely place for a special occasion though and I would recommend giving it a visit.
Made a lunch reservation at The Ivy Windsor for before a long haul flight from Heathrow. Very courteous friendly service, deserving of the service charge. Food was in line with expectations, drinks were not of the same quality of the food but they did the job. Will be back.
The Ivy never disappoint! Great food and warm space and atmosphere. We ordered pasta and fish and chips, look at the photos and judge yourself ! Price is great for the overall experience
Really love the atmosphere and decor in the ivy! The staff were super friendly and had great recommendations. The menu has some great choices on there between the English and Asian menus. The cocktails were delicious! So was the cheese soufflé to start. I had the chicken Milanese for the main which was ok but quite bland. It is quite pricey but we went here for a treat! It is also wheelchair accessible if you let them know beforehand
Very nice restaurant, wonderfully decorated. The atmosphere is very cosy and warm. Staff were all very friendly and polite. Food was delicious and well presented. We will definitely be going back again soon.
Very pleasant afternoon. Staff polite & friendly. We had afternoon tea & this was presented very nicely. It was a Saturday afternoon, so became quite busy & as we had elderly people in our party, they did struggle to hear waitress sometimes, not a complaint, just an observation if anyone has hearing issues to be aware.
Situated opposite Windsor Castle, it's great for people watching, though if you drive, you may find a parking space close by,hard on really busy days.
We all said we would like to return.
Food is exceptionally good and tasty !! The ambience is awesome, well decorated place and really nice interiors. Zucchini fritters was really crispy and the Malaysian curry was authentic, delicious and tasty. Its a lovely place to have lunch or dinner and you can go for the 3 course meal. Try the mocktails too !!! Highly recommend this place if you are around Windsor 👌👌👌
Had a great meeting with old friends recently and we had afternoon tea. Visually beautiful but could have done with more savoury and less sweet. Also, I hate sultanas in scones. Plain every time for cream tea. The deserts were way too sweet for my taste. Lovely atmosphere, staff were very friendly. Great decor too.

Today, after our son received his MBE medal from Princess Anne in Windsor Castle, we celebrated the event in The Ivy for a late lunch.
The restaurant is located right across the castle and next to the train station. It's a very popular fine dining restaurant. One day we passed by it and wanted to dine in but got no luck finding a table without a reservation. So we reserved our table right away for today's family event.
The restaurant is very fancy inside. It has very nice dining sections, a nice bar and a beautiful lounge area.
For our food, we all loved and enjoyed every dish! Service is great, of course. Every staff is friendly.
It's so far become my most favorite restaurant, I should say. So I strongly recommend it if you feel like for good food in a pleasant dining environment.
Windsor has many lovely restaurants but this could rightly have a claim to the top spot. The baroque 1930’s inspired decor of golden olive tree wallpaper, its big plants and ornate tiling with generous over-the-top opulence are a perfect match to the rich food and highly professional silver service.
The food is excellent the pricing is fair for the quality and care in offer. This is a bistro that could easily be full of artists and plonked on a Parisian Boulevard.
Only one minor criticism from me: I would expect a slightly more inspired and adventurous wine list.
Definitely a royal vibe here, with immaculate fish & chips to complement.
Service was especially commendable; a waiter noticed our group had small children who were restless, and proactively offered colouring supplies. While a small gesture, it went a long way.
Just what you would expect from a high end restaurant in Windsor. Food was refined and the service was on point, all of this and they were still able to create a welcoming and warm atmosphere.
Plesent place to eat. The food is top quality. Helpful polite staff. Also brought out a birthday treat. Many thanks
This beautiful restaurant has friendly, professional staff and some of the best food I have ever had. The atmosphere is tops, so beautiful and comfortable. I highly recommend it and hope to return on my next visit to the UK.
Stopped for a late breakfast and it was splendid! We had been meaning to visit for a while & it didn’t disappoint! We hadn’t booked but think we were lucky to find a table it was extremely busy, so recommended booking ahead! Beautiful decor, staff were attentive, polite and service was prompt - one of the nicest breakfasts we have had in a long while! We ordered the full English & vegetarian option with fresh fruit smoothies to drink! I don’t think my pictures do it justice! A great place to visit with views of the castle! Price wise it was competitive with a lot of other cafes in the town, we felt it was really good value for such lovely food & service!
I had a voucher for the Ivy Collection which is why I went to this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. The only issues I had was that the broccoli side that I ordered was basically raw broccoli so pretty touch to chew on. Other than that everything else was really tasty and presented so well. The service was nice but could have been slightly better. We waited quite a while to get our drinks and when we asked for water for the table it was forgotten about so we had to ask someone else to get it for us. But that could be just me being a bit picky. We also ordered some cocktails and mocktails which were all very moreish! The washroom was also very pretty and great for photos with friends 🤭
The ivy house certainly didn't disappoint . The location literally next to the castle is perfect.
The staff were so polite and helpful , once we ordered there was no waiting for food and everything we had was delicious, especially my Korean glazed chicken . Squid was very nice to - much to the annoyance of my wife - it was my second squid of the day
The decor was fantastic , like stepping back in time , highly recommend to all
