Lovely place and lovely people. Well worth a visit.
Service polite, friendly, nothing too much trouble.
Mum and I both had the Mushroom Wellington, cooked freshly, served with vegetables, just lovely, both plates very clean!!
Followed by delicious Belgian chocolate ice cream.
A lovely lunch.
Will return for popcorn ice cream!! Lol
Great Beer food and service I think that covers it no actually fantastic mini bottles of pink Prosecco
Great local with great food, a warm welcome and the friendliest staff in the area.
Excellent top quality food and supurb service. One of the best 'foodie' pubs there is anywhere.
Went mid week and was first in - at the start it was quiet, but got busy fairly quickly which created a nice atmosphere.
The staff were super friendly and considering it was only the 2 girls running the place, they did a fantastic job and we were never waiting too long for anything.
Decent menu, had the soup and vegetarian 🌱 burger which was lovely. My partner had the steak which was good too.
Only feedback is on the interior. Feel the place could do with renovation work to either make it into a restaurant or to make it a cozy pub. Also, things like the arrows ➡️ eg: stuck on the window, looks a bit tacky.
Overall would go back again. Just some aesthetics that needs some love to make it a top local pub.
Stopped in here after biking at Swinley Forest. We didn't book ahead, just turned up. The garden has a reasonable number of benches and pods (undercover igloos) for everyone to sit comfortably and spaced apart. The staff were friendly and the burger was good. Although they ask your preference on how you'd like your burger cooked, they all came out the same - medium. There is a car park on site.
Stopped at the Bee for a quick pint in the afternoon. Timothy Taylor's landlord was on. Carpark at the rear. There is no food at the moment, unfortunately. Nice pub reasonably priced ale.
Came here for a Sunday roast which was delicious! Pleasantly surprised to find out they had an offer on roasts £9.95! Normally £13-15. Roast was excellent. Pudding was a little disappointing, for £6 it wasn't a large portion or particularly special. Overall a lovely meal here though!
Great friendly pub with a nice atmosphere, have heard food is coming very soon so will be exited to try that.
Went for a soul night and the place was buzzing. Staff really friendly and the DJs were brilliant.
So nice to have The Bee back open, will be even better in coming weeks when the restaurant refurb. is complete.
A good traditional homely, friendly pub with great local clientele.
The pub itself needs to bring a bit more attention to itself but the food was awesome and speaking to the staff it’s all made fresh by the chef. They asked exactly how we’d like our food and we’re very attentive.
Go check them out you’ll be happily surprised.
Friendly, clean and tidy. A pub with character 👌
We had lunch here on Easter Sunday 2016 & were celebrating family birthdays too. We were a large group of 20 - of all ages, though mainly older teenagers upwards to grandparents, but also including 2 young children who were provided highchairs. A wonderful experience - private use of the upstairs function room and a lovely meal, served by friendly & efficient staff. The owners went out of their way to ensure that we felt welcome & our needs were catered for. Have also dined here as a group of 8 recently in the downstairs restaurant and would dine here again. Many thanks for a lovely experience..
Orsome food very helpfully staff lovely garden
It's a bit of a drive for us to get there, but we find ourselves going back time and time again. The chef is exceptional, simple food coked and presented to a high standard, ...and we are hard to please! The staff are always welcoming and efficient. Nice pub, good food and friendly staff, what more could you want??
They squeezed us in on a busy Sunday afternoon. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The pork, leak and cider pie was tasty and not too heavy for a pie. Bangers and mash went down well with my other half and the Doom Bar was well kept. Dogs and kids were welcome. Will return if I'm in the area.
Foods quality good and nice people
We sat in the garden and ate and drank and watched the children playing on the slide, swing, hanging obstacle equipment. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly, particularly the young girls who brought our food to our table. Little on the pricey side, but we had a great afternoon. Age range in our party was 83 all the way to 2 years old
Three of us went for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious. Two of us had starters of a very good prawn cocktail and a tomato soup, this was followed by two of us having the roast lamb with lots of veg, excellent roast potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings. The other member of the family went for the special of pan fried salmon with a white wine sauce served separately, again came with a mix of vegetables. We were so full after this (the portions were extemely generous) that I am afraid we didn't have room for pudding! We also had three glasses of wine and the whole bill came to £80 including service, which we thought was really good value.
We are so sorry that they will have to close because of the impending lockdown, but we were told that they will be offering a takeaway service and hopefully we can support them this way and hope others will too.
