We got married at Cragwood over the Easter break. Me, Mrs C and our four kids and two dogs stayed for the week. The hotel never felt busy, even though I suspect it was pretty much full. It was so relaxed and the staff were lovely. They made us feel special the entire stay and on the actual day of the wedding, even though we were such a small wedding party (just the 6 of us and the dogs) we were made to feel like guests of honour. The day went perfectly.
Location is perfect and you can walk down to the banks of the lake. Couldn't have asked for more.
We had our wedding at Cragwood on 6/4/24 and I cannot thank them enough for such a perfect, beautiful day! The wedding co-ordinators, Hannah and Holly were amazing they went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was just how we wanted. They made sure the day ran smoothly and even helped look after our 5 month old twins during the wedding ceremony!
All the staff were friendly, helpful and looked after all the guests throughout the day. The views at Cragwood are stunning which resulted in some amazing photographs, the hotel was spotless, all the rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. The food and service was brilliant. Thank you all for making our wedding day amazing. Love from Mr and Mrs Jenkinson.
We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate my wife’s Birthday.
Easy to find off the main road, and a lengthy drive to follow to the hotel. There was plenty of parking spaces.
When we checked in, there was a few things to go through, and then we had a guided tour before being shown to our room.
Our room (16) was beautiful, large enough, well lit and other than having another roof in view, offered a stunning view over the top.
There was everything we needed to make it a pleasant stay. I must say, we have no idea how the coffee machine works, 4 fails all the pods went in the machines bin.
The package we got had hot chocolate and scones, 1 evening meal each, and breakfast.
Our stay was excellent and we will certainly be visiting again.
The staff were brilliant, and catered for my dairy intolerance fantastically well.
The Christmas decorations were tasteful and not overly done.
The gardens were really nice, especially for mid November.
Beautiful location just outside Windermere (driving distance) with beautiful views of the lake and walks in the grounds to the shore of Windermere. Staff lovely can't do enough for you. Rooms clean well decorated and have everything you could need. Very dog friendly
Nice hotel and easily earned its 4star rating, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Some lovely walks in the area and plenty to see and do.

A truly lovely place.
One night on a work trip, comfortable room and bed, great choice of teas and coffees in the room
Very good dinner and excellent breakfast, and what a stunning view.
Slightly odd route from reception to the bar but that just added to the charm of the place
And finally, a very civilised check out time
Definitely going back for leisure
An amazing location, views to die for. Cream tea was delicious. The Room overlooked the lake Windermere only downfall of the room was the curtains absolutely filthy with damp hence why I didn't put 4 stars otherwise it would have been full stars for everything.
Characterful hotel in a converted old country house. Handy location for Windermere and is set in some lovely grounds right on the lake. We went for an off season wkend in Jan, and we're really taken with how friendly the staff were, and how doggo friendly *everyone* was - if you have dogs, it's an amazing place to stay. You can stay in any of the rooms with a dog (or two as we did) and they're allowed most places except the restaurant. The old "grand hall" is now a bar and spacious set of rooms with log fires, comfy seating, and views over the grounds.
Some of the hotel is a bit dated, but only to a kinda-charming degree rather than a fawlty-towers one. The bedrooms are apparently all different, our lake view room was spacious and lovely but it was a bit disappointing to have the view obscured by condensation half of the time. It also never got turned down - we thought the hotel had made a mistake (there are the usual signs about towels in the bath if you want them replaced etc) but apparently they don't offer a room turn down service, which seems really strange. If I wasn't turning down rooms as a hotel of this calibre, I'd make it clear from the outset (and provide more toilet rolls!)
We weren't able to book into the restaurant (do it before arrival if you're thinking of eating there) but the bar has a small food menu available all day which was decent quality. There are a bunch of restaurants a short drive away in town too.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, as did our doggos. Would definitely visit again.
Five stars do not do this Hotel justice. We held our daughters wedding here last week and were blown away by the level of service, care, attention to detail. Its amazing location and the hotel itself is just beautifully kept and decorated with flair and style. Special thanks must go to Hannah the Wedding Organiser who ensured every tiny detail was just perfect. The strength of this hotel is the warmth of the staff - every single staff member loves working there and this shows in the level of service. The food is out of this world and a credit to the chef and his team. Well done Cragwood you are a star and a gem of a hotel in the Lakes. From a very proud Dad who watched his beloved daughter get married in a hotel that cares for its guests and truly understands how to care for a family that wants a 'perfect' wedding Cragwood you delivered and exceeded at every level. Well done Cragwood and we will be back on their first anniversary.

We got married here yesterday (6th November '23) and we had a amazing day. We'd booked a 'Just Us' package, everything from the room, food, service to the ceremony was perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful, and located in stunning grounds with plenty of wedding photo opportunities. All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and always available when you needed them. Thank you all
Recently married at Cragwood. Beautiful hotel. Delicious food. Comfortable bed in the bridal suite. The service was great and the staff were friendly and fun. Praise to wedding coordinator Holly, who was excellent. And honourable mention to member of staff Keegan, (hope the name is correct) who was loved by our guests. Massive legend. We look forward to returning for another stay. Would definitely recommend choosing Cragwood Country House Hotel for a wedding venue.
Spent weekend at this beautiful hotel.
The staff were fabulous and friendly and the food very very good.
Would highly recommend
Amazing stay!!! Fantastic hotel, fantastic staff, fantastic food, fantastic room(24) with double doors opening onto a garden and fish pond!! Beautiful view of Windemere and walks around the well manicured gardens. This was an incredible experience and a brilliant hotel.
Stayed here Oct 23 for one night. Large car park out the front. Staff super nice and hotel is dog friendly. Had an evening meal in the bar which was very good . Nice grounds to walk your dog around as well with access to the lake.
First time at this hotel but definitely not the last fabulous food ,Great service from the staff with fabulous views of the lake will have to return in the summer to to enjoy the gardens and walks surrounding the hotel
We had our wedding here last weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The staff are excellent and took care of everything for us. Nothing was too big an ask.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful, and the food was just incredible. We would definitely recommend staying at Cragwood, not just as a wedding venue but as a hotel guest too.
We couldn't have had such a wonderful wedding without the amazing staff at Cragwood. Thanks again!

My better half purchased this through Groupon as a treat and we both really enjoyed it, although the drinks and food are a little expensive for what is served.
This was a diamond of a find. My daughter chose this hotel for a birthday treat for me. From stepping in the door to leaving everything was PERFECT. The room was beautiful. We had a lake view room and the facilities were excellent. Also very quiet and had a great nights sleep
Then there’s the food OMG. We ate in the restaurant and had the set meal. What can I say. I wish we’d stayed long enough to try everything on the menu. It was second to non. Breakfast also was of very good quality. And plenty of it. A great base for cycling and walking.
The staff were all so very helpful and couldn’t do enough
So if you just want a quiet quality night away or a base for activity Cragwood is hard to best
