First visit to the Brookside. Lovely pub. Great food. All enjoyed a Sunday roast. Friendly polite staff. Will definitely return here and recommend to others.
Been in to the Brookside this evening and have to say it's well worth the praise.
We've come over from York and are spending the weekend at a local guest house ( Ellerbrook House ) and were advised this was the place to go.
On arrival we asked for a table for 2, and were told one was available, but there was a delay due to a large group who'd just arrived.
No problems there, we sat and enjoyed the drinks. When we ordered, we were then asked if we'd been told about the wait, to which we replied yes.
Quicker than expected, the food came out to us and was subsequently excellent.
If we needed anything, just catching an eye of the staff was enough to bring them to the table.
All in all, excellent service, excellent food, excellent drinks ( Brookside Blonde is a must ) and we will be visiting again.
Visited this place a couple of weeks ago whilst staying in a local guest house. Fantastic place! Great food, Moretti on tap and a great Gin bar! And to top it off they had the f1 on tv!
Had a lovely meal tonight at the brookside.Would recommend if in windermere.Staff very plesant and helpful.!!
A party of 20 recently enjoyed a birthday meal, excellent choice.on the menu, very good prices. Staff were attentive and interested, not pushy or in a rush, we all felt valued. My duck salad was amazing, everyone elses dishes looked inviting, all arrived beautifully presented and hot (apart from my salad!) We will return th
ank you
We just though we would try the Brookside this evening for my birthday tea and have to say it's well worth it.
On arrival we enjoyed the drinks. Asked about how to order, table service.
All in all, excellent service, excellent food, excellent drinks, Well done to all and we will definitely be visiting again.
This place has been completely refurbished and now does food. We had a few drinks outside one afternoon on there lovely decking area. We fully enjoyed ourselves. It's a little bit out the way, but defo worth looking for. Next time we are over Windermere we will be popping back here and we are gonna give the food a try because it smelt lovely
Fantastic and friendly family pub! Very helpful staff and made to feel welcome by the locals. Recommended to us by Trevor at the Hawksmoor guest house we were staying at just down the road. We went in to watch the football on Wednesday night and to have our dinner there as well. The Guinness was good and the food was fantastic👌🏻and reasonably priced too. Thanks to all for making us feeling welcome, we will definitely be back when we next visit.
We went here for tea a few weeks ago, food was lovely. My only criticism would be the menu wasn't very big. Maybe to introduce a snack type menu with sandwiches etc?
Lovely friendly bar staff and the food was amazing
Great menu, Lovely food and the staff were great too
Very friendly, great food, great staff. Dog friendly in the bar area plus seating outside. Has its own car park.
The food was lovely,as usual, and staff were very friendly.
Our visit to the Brookside Inn was pleasant. The Pub itself was clean tidy and very welcoming and the staff were also friendly and helpful. The food was your typical pub food, I had the chicken wings to start with which were lovely but the battered fish for my main wasn't so nice, I'm no expert but to me the batter tasted like the oil needed changing and my mushy peas were cold and a few more chips would have been nice (maybe the chef was having an off day), the kids did say thier food and portion size were ok but not amazing. For me The Brookside Inn isn't a place I would rush back to but If I was passing I might pop back in to try something else off the menu.
Lovely pub with seperate dinning and drinking areas. Also has outside decking area which overlooks a brook, hence the pub name. Staff were attentive, food ordered and came quickly. We ate and then went to the bar side to play darts. Had a nice evening. We were strangers so quite understandably we had a few looks from the regulars but that didn't bother us one bit.
Off the beaten track so does not get the usual influx of tourists and probably all the better for it. Ate here once when we moved to the area and the food was good pub grub, would quite often head here before going in to Windermere town or walking down to Bowness-on-Windermere. Really cannot fault it, usually has sports on during the afternoon and in to the evening, dart board seems popular and they do have live music some evenings, altogether just a very good local.
Had an absolutely wonderful experience at The Brookside! Whilst in there I treated myself to a fish finger ciabatta and some Parmesan and truffle fries, what absolutely incredible food, what more could you want from a pub! I then got chatting to the barman who managed to get me involved in the pub quiz and paired me up with some locals! We all had a fabulous time and managed to come second! I look forward to returning to the Brookside to claim my medal for 1st in the pub quiz!
Friendly bar staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Proper little pub with good beer and nice food. Highly recommended!
Well I definitely have never been here before. On the road up from Bowness turn right at the clock tower to find a local pub. Had a guest St Austell beer on so Paulicarus went for that. Pint 8 in just over 4 hours..what a lad!
Food was amazing as always. I would recommend to anyone who fancies good food, good beer and friendly atmosphere and staff
First time in there its a proper pub, the food was good to had Pepperoni pizza and fries 🍟
Wonderful staff, brilliant atmosphere and great food! Highly recommend to anyone local or visiting
Very friendly atmosphere, the food was delicipus and a good portion, and the service was brilliant, both friendly and humorous, totally recommended👍👍👍👍👍
Great pub! Had a good chat with Baz at the bar and enjoyed a nice pint of moretti!
Fantastic food and good service too 👍 the Thai sticky beef was special, would definitely go back...
A friendly welcome, traditional pub food, fair choice of beer and a cracking quiz on a Thursday evening.
A lovely pub that is just a short walk from the town centre. I wouldn’t have known about it without google maps.
Lovely food, huge portion sizes. Great service and a friendly atmosphere. Worth a visit!
We stopped here last Sunday after spotting the pub on Google Maps for somewhere to have a Sunday lunch. It's a bit out of the centre of town but worth finding. The done was very good and the service was excellent. We can highly recommend a visit.
