Excellent New Years Eve night.
What can I say ?
We were a party of 7 on the 3rd sitting of the night. The food was amazing. We tried a dozen or more of the fantastic dishes on the menu, and everyone was delicious.
We were recommended a beautiful Rioja from the bar manager, which was one of the best I've tried in a long time.
The service was exceptional, from the staff and owners of this great little restaurant in Windermere.
And after we all wished the New Year in, the owners put on some music to which we all got up and had a great dance to finish the night off.
So a big Thank you to Andrew and the staff of Tapios for making such a memorable night.

We arrived at 5ish without a booking and they were able to seat us promptly. We ordered about 2 or 3 dishes per person. The food came out in no particular order just when ready which was perfect as we were not sitting twiddling our thumbs and always had something in front of us. The food tasted amazing and the staff were so polite, we even tried the raspberry sangria which tasted phenomenal. It was our first time in Windermere and it was the best time ever.
Lovely restaurant, squeezed us in on a Friday despite not having a booking. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic and really good value for money. Tempura prawns particularly delicious!
Lovely food! Great atmosphere. We booked prior to our visit early on in the day via phone. Staff were lovely and very understanding and helpful. One plate was missed but when mentioning staff said would we want it or take off the bill. We took it off as we did kinda over order, as we weren’t to sure how small the plate were. Good size portions for tapas. Very tasty. Great price as well. The only photo I got was the cheesecake as the food was to good to wait, and you just want to tuck in
OMG! This is the best of the best restaurants we had during this 4 days Windermere trip!
Really really satisfying food, excellent service, convenient location, reasonable prices for tapas
We got lucky today, get 2 people outside seats without booking. But strongly recommend to book avoid disappointments.
Average price for a tapas is around £6-9. Parking is free along Windermere high street after 5pm.
Definitely, definitely will come back next time we are in Windermere.
Small tapas restaurant with more Greek influence than we normally experience. Friendly staff and the food was really tasty. The lamb was lovely, like a tapas version of lamb Henry and the meatballs have a lovely spicy kick to them.
I have a mollusc allergy and was advised against eating the patatas bravas as they are cooked in an adjacent fryer to the calamari, which I appreciated.
A couple more cooked vegetable dishes on the menu would be a plus, e.g, a roasted cauliflower, or similar, as we're not fans of salad with primarily hot dishes.
Great tapas restaurant, always booked out so make sure to call and reserve your spot in advance. Food is pure heaven, every plate was rich in flavour (try chorizo with honey & almonds, super yummy). Nice staff, happy to assist with tapas selection.
As always great food, very good service and a fantastic evening at Tapios. We love going here on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. We will be back this Summer and we highly recommend this well-run restaurant serving delicious tapas! Thank you!
I found myself in Windemere, peak season and looking for a table for one. So many restaurants with "fully booked" signs up making my choice limited.
The Tapios opened at 5pm and had several bookings waiting, but managed to get me in the early sitting.
Well the stress melted away once I was seated. A wonderful ambiance, with subtle table and environment lighting, good decor and greenery making it feel as Mediterranean as you could in the soggy lake District.
A good selection of tapas was on offer so a "one of each" approach seemed appropriate. Bit of meat, bit of fish, bit of veg.
Squid, chicken, and mushrooms, which seemed a good combination.
The service was great, a little small talk even though the restaurant was filling up, drinks arrived swiftly, and the tapas, shortly after.
The squid was well cooked, not rubbery and with a light batter.
The chicken was spicy, but not overly so and the small bed of salad had a high quality balsamic vinegar applied.
The mushrooms had a fantastically Herby hot salsa with stringy cheese to complement.
The bill was bought when asked and a great meal experience was had.
I couldn't fault it so left a 25% tip. Because it was worth it.
Great food,
Great service,
Great experience.
We went for a meal here whilst on a weekend break. I would recommend it to anyone. The food was amazing and the staff very good. It has a lovely laid back atmosphere, perfect for some authentic tapas. Also the prices are very reasonable. You have to try the meatballs, these were our favourite.
