Shoal - Winchester - Photo album

If you like fish and chips, then this is the place for you! Although they do chicken sausage and vegetarian options too. Don't sit in the restaurant, rather at the "bar" there you can see the kitchen and the well oiled machine of kitchen staff cranking out cover after cover. Well worth a visit.
The fish and chips here is the best one I had in the UK so far. The portion is a nice size, the fish is perfectly cooked and buttered with crispy flakes on top. πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ Sooo good. The chips was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Just perfect. You can also ask for more complementary chips. S
As an American who doesn’t enjoy fish, it was a leap for me to try Shoal. Boy, I’m glad I did. I got the fish & chips lunch special. It was delicious. The best fish I have ever had! The staff was great! There was never a moment I saw the wait or kitchen staff standing still. They were very kind an
Shoal is a lovely fish and chip restaurant and takeaway. My friend and I were on a coach trip to Winchester and needed some lunch. We had the "Lunchtime special" for Β£15, which includes a drink, homemade roll with butter and extra chips if you want them. We had the haddock and it was really nice.
One of the best fish and chips of England. It has a special offer because you can eat chips forever as long as you finish the previous ones. It is near a beautiful park free that has a little river. From there you can easily go to the cathedral.
Great experience, good quality and decent size portions. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table a two to become available, although this was to be expected on a busy Friday night. Not a problem for us as it allowed us to visit on of the many nearby pubs for a refreshing pint of London Pride. Once s
The best chips, mushy peas and curry sauce I have eaten in a long time! Thank you Len for serving us so late in the day. What a delicious supper we just had, thank you team πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
We've been here a few times over the past year - it's our little treat. The first time was really good (maybe because it was new to us). Can't really fault the food and the ability to ask for more chips when you need them is a good idea. The chips come out fresh and hot, cooked to order. You sometim
My Dad brought me to Shoal as a birthday treat and I can honestly say it did not disappoint! I had the halloumi and chips and my Dad had cod and chips. It was divine and we ate every morsel which is unusual for me! We then went for a plod down the Saturday Market before returning for the most amazin
Best fish and chips I've ever eaten. The fish batter was light and crispy and the haddock was so fresh. The chips were also crispy and light on the outside and soft on the inside. Tastiest mushy peas I've ever had. Restaurant manager was efficient and very friendly. What a fabulous lunch experienc
