My wife and I had the porterhouse steak with red cabbage, hasselback potatoes and roasted parsnips. The steak was brought to the table with your choice of butter. The butter was then melted with hot coals from the BBQ. Smoked filled the room and it was a feast for the eyes and mouth.
This was the best steak I have eaten. It might just have been in that moment but we both said we would make the 2hr drive just to come back for dinner. It was a reasonable price, £90 for the steak with two sides and the meal very filling.
A magnificent place for enjoying your afternoon tea in a lovely mansion.
Spectacular views on vast green fields, friendly staff, delicious scones and a selection of tea.
Would you like to have a tea party like in the 19th century? You should definitely visit this place.
My wife and I shared the poterhouse steak, which was cooked over a woodfire and it was excellent! Desserts were good too and the ambience was relaxed and friendly.
Booked this restaurant for a mid-week birthday celebration and it was fantastic. It was a little hard to find (as it is signposted as the cookery school) but once inside the service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing and the ambience is warm and welcoming. The food was amazing; we had arancini balls as a snack, shared charred pork bits and then had a main each. Every course was delicious. It’s not a cheap restaurant but I think it’s good value and the wood fired cookery offers something a bit different to create more of an experience.
Outstanding meal, went for the tuscan ribeye to share and it was fantastic. Lovely service, beautiful restaurant, great evening all round.
Had dinner here with work colleagues and clients. Service was great, friendly staff who dealt with our large party admirably. Food was awesome too. Very happy to recommend.
Beautiful restaurant with lovely staff that couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful.
