City Mill Cafe - Winchester - Photo album

An interesting old flour mill in the heart of Winchester on the beautiful river Test. Guided tours available also video and fixed displays of its history. Tiny shop and small cafe have been added recently. Outdoor seating for warmer days.
Had lunch here and it was out of the world. So fresh and delicious. Also, such a nicely preserved mill with fascinating facts/memoirs to read about in a well kept book. Will be back just for the tasty treats!
Small but fascinating mill with centuries of history, well laid out displays and access to the workings of the mill. Excellent guided tour included.
This is an interesting but small NT property. We were surprised that it was free entry. No more than 1 hour is required to see everything. There is a cafe onsite should you fancy a bite. No parking but many public carparks exist close by.
Interesting history of the Mill inside, nice garden outside and lovely Cafe. Good coffee and cakes and one of the cleanest toilets in Winchester!
An interesting Mill, that is free to visit and look around, friendly staff and different things for kids to interact with. Central to the city centre and easy walking distance to the Cathedral and gardens.
Had the most wonderful guided tour of this historic 18th century mill. Despite the mill being under repair, the guide did a fantastic job bringing it to life for us. Highlight of our day in Winchester!
Free to enter, although they have a suggested donation, so I was pleased to contribute to this wonderful old Mill, unfortunately the wheel wasn't working, it is very old & they are hoping to get enough donations to renew it, apart from that I was not disappointed, plenty of information & also a vide
Such an Interesting place to see if you like learning history of how the country started with farming
Never expected to learn so much from a wind mill. Really good place to bring the kids. There is a cafe and restaurant here as well, with really clean toilets. Good stop for tired travellers for food or the loo.
Nice little NT place to visit, free to enter as only small but lovely to sit and have a coffee in the little outdoor garden on the river and see the old mill.
Free entry, donations taken. Nice little place we love it!
Very interesting place to visit, considering how old this mill is. Sadly, it wasn't working due to restoration and conservation but it was still interesting to see. It was cool to see the water running under the mill too. Once it is restored, I would definitely visit again. I also liked the videos t
Great place to pop in and spend an hour or two. Really enjoyed it and the gardens are lovely.
Excellent N/T building. Lots of facts and figures from the guide. The kids will love all the hands on exhibits and fact finding. Small shop and a super cafe. Sadly needs the mill wheel repairing so that part is not in action. National Trust are frantically trying to raise thousands to get it extensi
Interesting visit to Winchester NT City Mill. On the day we visited it free entry.
Great attraction, and really nice to see the work going on to repair and maintain this historic building
Great little place to learn some history and grab a bite to eat.
While this place maybe small it has something to offer for those who enjoy experiencing what the National Trust has to offer. At present the water wheel is not working due to major refurbishment work that needs to be done. That being said you will be able to see the mills history in its production
