This restaurant has been rebranded to alfreds and is attached to the hotel and prices are what you would expect for this kind of establishment. We paid for dinner Included with our stay. But most people we spoke to prefer to eat out considering there is a large selection of restaurants in the town. Atmosphere 3 out of 5 The music only turned on at 7.30 before then it was very quiet and it didn't help that there was only 2 tables booked at 7.30pm. But the place was very clean and nicely presented. Food 4 out of 5 It was relatively expensive with some dishes around the 18 to 26 mark depending what you order. For this price mark the food was presented lovely but lacked anything that blew me away in terms of flavour. Dishes did taste fresh and there was a selection of different dishes on the menu . diserts, however, were amazing. Service 5 out of 5 Service was what i would have expected here with the staff being very friendly and our waiter being polite and smarty dressed. but sadly it took us just around 2 hours for 3 courses which was quite a while. but at the time there was a table of 10 out of view which would explain the wait. Overall nice restaurant with decent food. but next time I would be looking out into the local area like many other of the guests staying here do.

Food and breakfast are good and they have a lot of options for me. White and brown bread, jam croissants (not the best), scrambled eggs, eggs, all the other stuff of the traditional English breakfast. Shame that espresso it’s an extra but illy coffee so it’s very good

Have been here for their steak night many times now. One of the best steaks in Winchester and decent wine selection.
