Omg. I was away with my wife for our anniversary, we had a really bad experience at another hotel so left and came here last minute. Was the best decision we made. The pub itself is so quirky, unique and every member of staff was friendly. We felt instantly comforted and happy. Then we saw the room.
We had dinner here for the first time in ages. The food was really excellent, but the prices are steep for pub food. If you think of it as fine dining (which it is) then it's a great evening.

We ran in here to escape from the rain and get some lunch. It's got a nice authentic aura and our meals were tasty. Ciders are really good. The tables were not cleaned for us it was a little sticky.
Famous traditional pub next to Winchester College and always associated with it. Sit at old school desks in the bar area. The most amazing roast dinners.
We've tried a few Sunday roasts in Winchester, and this is definitely the best one. I had the beef roast (pictured) which was a generous portion and came with a separate board of sides. The gravy was superb. Our table also had two vegetarian wellingtons which were reported to be excellent.

Good central lunch location. A true spot the differences bar with innumerable objects and pictures. Well spaced dining room (with more at the rear). Can recommend the Wyck Pie from the pub-style menu with local enhancements.
