A great pub right on the river in central Winchester. Always busy on the weekends, can be noisy (& difficult to hear conversations) but a nice warm atmosphere. Food was spot on as were drinks & the guy who served our table was great too. Really efficient & friendly despite the busyness! Pricey but most places are these days.

A warm welcome awaits in an area steeped in history. Quality beers on tap in a fine location close to the river side.

Pricey and pricey pub. Busy too...for no other reason than on a Saturday afternoon being in a picturesque position. Staff a bit huffy if you want to sample the beer first and ale needs checking before purchase, I and other folk were waiting ages at the bar being pushed around by younger folk jostling for their cocktails and shots....14 squids for a white wine and a pint of HSB. Nice touch though, heaters outside and good views of river. Fullers are onto a winner and they know it..is this a boozer of yesteryear ? Er no...the template for making money clearly in mind more restuarant than pub. Gales and Co are a dim and distant memory of charm versus Fullers ruthless business model.

Beautiful historic pub right on the river. It's gorgeous inside, very traditional. Staff are very friendly and service is great. Fabulous choice of food and drinks. Also has an outside area. Recommended.

A regular haunt, especially from Spring onwards! Always cathartic being sat with drinks literally ‘over’ the river!! Great to see the refurbishments on the outside patio/decking area, with welcome addition of efficient heaters - a must have for my wife!! 😉 I will always love this place, ***as long as Fullers ESB is readily and constantly available!*** 🤣 A classic ale, fit for a classic pub and location! 🥳

THE perfect pub/restaurant for a large family get-together. Amazing food, with great selection (especially for the odd dietary req), lovely warm atmosphere and the staff couldn't have been more attentive, which was incredible given that we visited on a VERY wet day and the restaurant was packed. You can't beat a Fullers pub, but this one is also perfectly placed to explore Winchester. We'll definitely be back.

Came here on a busy Saturday lunchtime after being turned away at other venues for not booking. Friendly host was able to squeeze us in fairly quickly the service continued to be fantastic until we left. Lovely buzzing atmosphere, great looking venue with heated outdoor space. Food and drinks were very nice and best of all they were served quickly despite the place being at near capacity. Only slight issue was I ordered the buffaloumi burger and my friend ordered the fish finger sandwich at half the price and his was more substantial with a salad and mine looked quite lonely. Was expecting the buffaloumi to have a bit more going for it. Tasted good but not worth the extra. Would recommend this place for a meal or just a relaxing drink and will be visiting again when I’m next in Winchester

The food was really ,really good..I know I seemed a little surprised however I am always a little skeptical of chains..it was tasty, beautifully presented and did not last long. The portions were prefect. Although the inside of the pub was on the quiet side the outside was busy however the team were very attentive and ensured we were well looked after. Thank you

We went for a colleagues meal whilst staying in Winchester for the night. Had some great meals and drinks with excellent service. The views are great in the garden/marquee.

Great place to just grab a beer or have food. The food is good the staff is very friendly. They have very comfortable outdoor seating. It's next to the lake and walking trail. The only negative thing is they only have one bathroom or as they would call it the Loo.

I'm so, so glad I booked a table for this place as I doubt we would've gotten a table! We went at midday, there was a small queue of people waiting to get in and within 15 minutes of sitting down, the pub was pretty full. The service ran smoothly with staff getting orders from the table rather than people going to the bar. We didn't have to wait too long for our lunch and drinks. This is definitely the best Sunday lunch we've had in a while and would 100% go back.

Their garden is the best place to be on a warm summer day, right next to the river the food is great too and so is service. I would recommend the shepherd's pie!

We got lucky this weekend, in addition to better than average Fullers fare there was a fantastic musician playing. For a pub chain the food was very good but the eclectic mix of re-worked classics from Rob Clamp whilst we were dining was a real bonus. Not sure how often this occurs (we visited on a Sunday) but we will be checking out future dates to return again.

Staff were all really friendly, good place to sit out by the river if the weather is nice. The food was really nice, definitely recommend the bao bun. Its pretty busy when its nice weather so make sure you book. That said even when it is busy the food and drinks come pretty fast.

We were recommended to go here for Sunday Roast, and I have to say it did not disappoint. Staff on the bar were very attentive and sociable. The roasts we ordered were great, and the service by Niamh was excellent

Excellent Thai curry with a real kick. Good value in the fairly upmarket town of Winchester. Service was prompt and very polite and there were no issues with the order or any of our food. Recommended!
