Fabulous place . We sat upstairs in the window. Ate tapas and loved the offer of 2 x gin for only £10. Great food, friendly service. My kinda place.

Nice afternoon drink here yesterday. The pub is in a great location opposite the cathedral and is done out to a high standard. A warm welcome and good friendly service from Danni and Ed, thoroughly recommend.

The music is wonderful, there are great beer options AND there are free sanitary products in the toilets. Any pub ever will instantly go up in my opinion as soon as they provide free sanitary options but they also provide OPTIONS. I love it.

Food and service were very good and would come again - but standout was the home made tomato soup which came with bread and a generous amount of butter to enjoy (not the usual ‘one pat’ wrapped in foil, which is never enough). The name of the pub is an amazing story: William Walker the dedicated, brave diver who saved Winchester cathedral. We felt the decor could have told his story better, not just reflect it. By the way - even though he got both - would you rather have a knighthood or have a pub named after you? I’m choosing pub!!

Best Chicken, Ham and Leek pie I have ever had! The appetizer tart was also incredible. Fee was an excellent provider of great customer service and a wonderful experience! Would highly recommend!

Great place for a drink, with music on Saturday nights. Service excellent, but it was very, very noisy, as it isn't always tuneful music. We didn't eat here, so can't comment about food.

Another Fuller's chain pub. Small and cosy. It was fairly quiet during my visit, but I was surprised how quickly my fish n chips appeared, Although it tasted ok, pretty standard pub food, that said, would probably visit again

Great for lunch and good for a drink and dinner after we had spent day wandering Winchester. Steak, ale and mushroom pie was lovely. Meze platter for two was great but a bit short as a main. Worth booking if weekend as lots of tables were booked from 6.30 onwards.

Really nice town pub. Clean, well presented, and well looked after beer, which is very important! It's a Fuller's pub, so it has the usual suspects but with a couple of extra bits. The team was very friendly and helpful to guide my friend and I around the choices. Food looked good, but we didn't eat. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in town

First time here. Lovely pub. Great staff. Food was nice although we thought the portions were a little on the small side. Other than that, all good. Be happy to return.

Having had an abhorrent experience at the Wykeham Arms recently, was reticent about visiting another Fullers pub in town. Mitch and the team at the William Walker were simply outstanding - attentive, polite, accommodating and innovative. Short staffed and with a fryer busted in the kitchen limiting some menu options, the exceptional service was matched by the food. Having tried a few venues in town without joy due to not having a booking, Mitch (the Assistant Manager who was also our server) ensured we were seated and served quickly, in spite of the pub being very busy. The entire team were knowledgeable and extraordinarily friendly. Would not hesitate to commend these staff - what a brilliant team. The comparison between the Wykeham Arms and the William Walker was chalk and cheese; the team at the William Walker are absolute class. Thoroughly recommend!!
