Friendly relaxed atmosphere. We were a group of 7 for a 70th birthday meal. The waiter bought my dad's dessert out with a candle and sung happy birthday to him. lovely suprise. Most importantly great food too.
Great meal and excellent service, my daughter has Coeliacs disease and their gluten free menu is excellent and the staff very knowledgeable. Always good.

We walked in without booking and were greeted by attentive staff offering friendly service throughout. Enjoyed a tasty lunch in a relaxing atmosphere, would definitely recommend to others.
Very good meal for three girlfriends meeting up in Winchester. we all had varied meals and all were very good. We washed down our meals with some superb medoc at a reasonable price. Attentive and pleasant service all at a good price. Will return! Brilliant!

The restaurant is very attractive, updated, and fresh. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. There were specials printed on a separate menu card, in addition to the regular menu, which is very appealing itself and why we chose this restaurant. We had bread and butter and olives for starters. Very good, but no small plates offered, so nowhere to put the olive pits. The main courses and sides were very good. I had the veal, which was good, but not great. My husband had the fish parmentier, which was an au gratin seafood dish with salmon, prawns, cod, and haddock with potatoes and gruyere, and it looked excellent. One of our party had a risotto with peas and asparagus that he said was excellent, and the other friend has the salmon cakes which were also quite good. The desserts were excellent - creme brûlée, creme caramel, tarte fine aux pommes with vanilla ice cream, and ice cream with a chocolate sauce (coupe noir).
The service was good, but once the restaurant got full, it slowed down considerably. Still, all in all a good experience with very good food.
Came for a wedding lunch. We had the second floor to ourselves. The food was great.
The service was top-notch we got drinks very quickly. When some dishes were missing, it arrived very afterwards.
I'm sure normal service it would be excellent as well.
The menu was quite large and easy to read. so it would fill your appetite.
Gosh….. what an amazing experience, the food was amazing and so filling. I will definitely be returning again soon. All the staff were brilliant and couldn’t be any nicer. Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had for a while

Really good food. Everyone in our party (12) all agreed how good the food was.
I definitely recommend the crab maison starter and steak sharer. The steak was cooked to order.
Good selection of gluten free food, which came with little flags to show it was gluten free.
We were asked to pre-order because we had such a big party, it was a shame that some of the food we had pre-ordered was then not available during service.
This restaurant was 10/10 on absolutely every course, we had the weekday 2 course meal, which was incredible and treated ourselves to a lovely red wine, some dauphinoi potato, and the café gourmand. It was perfect.

Initially dropped in for breakfast but enjoyed it so much we immediately booked for dinner the same night and the quality and experience were once again equalled.
Booked for dinner on Saturday evening, really lovely location in a beautiful old building. Friendly and engaging staff. Lovely meal especially the sharing board we had as a starter. Worth a visit.
Went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Not too busy. The food was well presented and tasty. The only thing I would say, is that when they brought the tea, the cup offered was dirty with coffee/tea stains. I used to work in restaurants and would have been really embarrassed to provide a cup like that. It only takes two seconds with a damp cloth to remove the coffee/tea stains. I normally go to the one in Basingstoke and with Rose, there, often doing the coffees this would not have happened. I will return tho!

The food, atmosphere and decor all at a high standard, but what really made this a memorable experience was the service! I’d love to see Amy and the team receive recognition for their efforts. It was so appreciated that they took note of my booking - saying that we were there celebrating my best friend’s birthday. So many times in the past (other restaurants) have ignored or neglected this opportunity and I commend Cote for their approach.
Giving 4 stars rather than 5 as there are only 3 vegan dishes, which is quite an imbalance.
