The pub was great, food fabulous, such a delicious sandwich and chunky chips....the staff were very helpful and friendly. They also had a gin bar which was perfect. Would very strongly recommend a visit.

Quirky pub full of character and the food was delicious. I personally would have liked a bigger wine menu but that's just because I'm fussy

Quirky little gem, good food reasonably priced, great wines and what a find, fabulous little gin bar, so many to choose from, knowledgeable staff for the tonic and garnish choices, excellent night had by all, will definitely be returning to try more 👌🏼😁

It's my favourite pub in the town and also my local. And it's a rare pub because it sociable and communal; people form diverse backgrounds meet and rub along nicely and no awful television to ruin it. There is canned music but not in all bars so you have a choice.

Simply the best! No other pub comes close to having the character of this pub!

Top back street boozer. So good I stayed here for 6 years and worked behind the bar. Lovely bunch of locals, great banter, atmosphere and always lovely to return.

Such a wild place to be ! Every corner of this pub is covered in crazy creative work, definitely worth the visit. They served a really nice dark stout - recommend getting a pint of it. Everything about this pub says come back. Excellent service from the team which adds to the incredible ambiance. DEFINITELY VISIT THE BLACK BOY WHEN YOU GO TO WINCHESTER

Cool pub with many games to play. Didn’t explore that much but there were many different rooms to check out. Good beers on tap too

One of Winchester's best pubs. Great atmosphere. Decent beer selection. There's tables and sofas inside which are good if you want a quiet relaxed spot for a meeting.

What a great place, stopped here after finishing South Downs way. The pub is decorated with lots of quirky things, each room is different. The food in the garden is amazing, the chef is super passionate and prepares a small range of incredible dishes! If I lived here I would be a regular

Pubs fantastic, quirky, great drinks and even played Trivial Pursuit today, highly recommend. The let down though was the food, probably the worst tacos and nachos I've ever had, cold, tasteless soggy and all round just horrible.

Brilliant pub with great choice of Ales, and plenty of seats inside and out ( under cover if you prefer). The bar areas are full of eclectic paraphernalia: look out for the Wild Hog under the football table ; he nips your toes! 😅😅

One of my favorite spots in Winchester. Atmosphere and style of the place is great. Loved that scary painting🙈 Unfortunately food was not available the last time we went there due to pandemic. But we’ve tried some main dishes and they were very very good👌🏻

Good social pub, the outside seating is good with a lot of it sheltered and with heaters above the benches. Only downside is that it is a little pricey the toilets were not in great condition (cubicles not locking, nothing to dry your hands on etc.)

Genuinely friendly hosts, didn't mind showing us round even though the pub wasn't open. We hope to have the chance to come back, interesting pub eclectic collection of oddities. The beer look on enticing us.

Coming from Denver where the only Real ale is a CAMRA certified pub called Hogshead (highly recommended). I would set up a bed and live at the Black Boy if I could. A+

Great pub, unique. The boss has filled the place with all sorts of artefacts which make it a treasure trove of interest. Beer is great, much larger than it appears from the outside. Staff fabulous, a must place to visit.

Stopped here for a drink and some chill time. Lovely staff. Board games too which were a fun time-waster. I qas recommended to come here after my Dad visited years ago and it was definitely a good shout. Thanks to the staff for making us aware of more tables around the back when we were about to leave thinking there was no space as looked full! It is a very quirky pub and definitely one to visit!
