I’ve been wanting to check out this place and today we finally went. It didn’t disappoint. Everything that they served us were delicious. I don’t even like mint sauce but it was my favourite amongst the sauce in our starter. We ordered two food each, one from the street food and one from the mains menu and shared it. Because of the portion, you won’t get too full and you get to try more variety of food. I think one order is good for two people to share. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back!

Decor is on point and the food is de-licious! Such an amazing addition to Derby- there is no other place in the region serving food like this!

Tremendous. Comfortably the best Indian food I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, anywhere in the world. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Fresh, clean and modern setting with fantastic views over the water. Not just your average curry house by a long shot; definitely give it a go. Something for everyone on the menu. Derby is very lucky to have Lotus.

Sue, Sheila and I visited last Tuesday early evening. Interesting concept ‘Street food’. All three of us enjoyed the food, the setting and the price(30% off until Friday). We will be returning to try some of the other ‘Indian Tapas’ menu items.

Really enjoyed the Indian tapas concept. The food came out very quickly but was freshly cooked and every dish was so good. The staff couldn’t do enough to help out. Great atmosphere too. We will definitely be going back.

Great food! Lovely decor and friendly staff who need time to learn the menu. A couple of times we asked a question about the food and the staff could not answer, had to ask chef and even then came back with an response that didn’t really answer the question.! As a non meat eater I would have liked to know what the ingredients were. All in all... totally amazing food but more staff training required and less nail polish and false nails.

We were really impressed all round. The food was amazing, lots of different flavours and so tasty. The staff were great and made sure we were well looked after. The decor and layout is spot on. We will be back to try some more of the menu!

Peter, Roy and myself treated ourselves to a meal tonight. This is our verdict. The food was fab, our waiter Taran was extremely helpful ... Lovely warm evening so we were able to have a drink outside first, then eat our lovely meal inside , and have another drink outside before coming home. Our only negative comment is the amount of noise inside .... Not easy to have a conversation.... (Seems a common problem with the building designs on the marina). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have had two meals at Lotus Indian Kitchen - one last Friday evening and one yesterday lunchtime. Both were different and delicious. Can't recommend you highly enough. Mercia Marina is very lucky to have you :-)

There for Chukundar Ki Tikki and a delicious fresh lemon drink at lunchtime and then back for a late evening Mango Kulfi. All delicious, welcome delightful and service great. A significantly lovely addition to Mercia and we'll be back again and again.

Food was delicious and decor pleasant. We had Briyani and Coconut Chicken which was cooked very well and was very tasty. Definitely worth eating here. The service and staff can improve however. Did not feel welcome as staff are not particularly friendly no service with a smile. The bathrooms were very nice and clean.

Really like it here, tasty food, highly recommend the chilli chicken! Also really nice cocktails, would recommend the top one on the menu. They actually went above and beyond and emailed me to say that they’d moved us from an outside table to indoor due to the weather forecast which I really appreciated. Prompt service, only criticism would be that you don’t get very long to eat, our table was 6:45 and they needed it back for 8 so felt very rushed

Lotus Kitchen: A restaurant that’s been on our list probably since it’s opened!!! Located proudly at Mercia Marina, boasting with confidence, it’s food and service, with its inviting aromas. You CAN NOT go to the Marina and not be enticed or indulged into the Lotus Kitchen. An absolute Gem! Parking is Free at the Marina, including the restaurant, which is always a Bonus. You’re warmly welcomed by staff and a bar, to start your evening. There are a good number of seats whilst you wait for your party to arrive. The restaurant has ample places to sit and is utilised well with the tables and chairs spaced out well, not invading the privacy of tables. The Service is great, professional and friendly. Our waiter was Fraser. A fantastic young man. He knew his menu well. Advised on what was available and what additional items were available that weren’t on the menu. His customer service was excellent. Thank you Fraser. The Menu. Wow! The Menu had some amazing choices, leaving you either wanting to order it ALL or return to try out another dish. Either way a great menu. We were all really pleased with our food. It was cooked well, traditionally. The Tandoori naans we’re done very well and in a proper Tandoori oven. (This was impressive). The Kitchen is open so you can see you’re food being prepared. Prepare yourself for it being served. It is Divine! and you will not be disappointed. A definite must!!! We will most definitely be returning to try another dish. The only (pedantic) improvement I’d say, is the ambiance and the vibe. This could be improved. The staff could also be given a uniform. But other than this, it was fantastic!!! Thank you for the Lotus Experience. 💫

Sat outside to eat, what a place. The views are beautiful. Drink orders were taken swiftly, and starters brought out quickly. There was a long wait for mains due to an error in the kitchen, but the staff came over, apologised, and then provided a free drink. Staff were very attentive. Food was sublime and well priced. Will definitely come again

Great taste, Food was awesome ever tested in UK, Indian hotel outside Derby in place surrounded by lake, nice ambience, free car park.... I will recommend the place for taste and cost wise also not so expensive which I thought. Quick service available and baby dishes also available. Love to dine in again

Located in Mercia Marina, this is our favourite place to dine at Sunset, and the food is always delicious. This is Halal btw.

Been to the Lotus Indian Kitchen previously in March and the food was impeccable, so naturally booked again - had the most incredible meal, the service was attentive and speedy, but the food was OUTSTANDING! The most delicious Indian cuisine we have ever had and experienced! Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back soon!

I like lotus. The food is good, it's a modern restaurant, but I also like the location at Mercia Marina...if you like a little bit of greenery, water, take a boat trip or to just sit and geese watch (lol), it's a nice little get away from Derby city...outdoor dining at Boardwalk provides a bit of European cafe style culture and there's some quaint arty shops there too. Shame it isn't bigger with more shopping or more walking into nature....but it's nice. One of my fav places to take visiting friends....if the weather is nice!! 😬

Staff was nice, place was clean and tidy. Noone walking around. Sticking to covid 19 rules. The food came out quick but it was not spicy at all. Plain. It did say on menu to ask chef for spice but i like my food mild to medium so so thought the curry would be mild to medium like no heat at all. So if u like stuff like that then good. They had a limited range of food. I think this is due to covid. Things would be better if they could provide a picture of food on menu as i am not familiar with indian food and it makes things easier if you can see what your ordering. Chops are wonderful. Only came in 3 for the price. Kebabs were nice and the naan.

Went for my partners Birthday. Great service, excellent food. Lovely clean restaurant with views over the water. Nice relaxed atmosphere and they even put a birthday card on the table. We had a great evening and to top it off the prices are very reasonable.
