Was told about this pub from the owner of the lodge we're staying at. So glad he recommended it to us. Atmosphere was fantastic and the food was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend it to everyone. We will definitely be returning. x
Excellent friendly service. Value for money food and accommodation which was bright and very clean. Full English Breakfast included in our overnight stay when booking direct with them. Extremely generous food proportions.. almost too big to manage! Thoroughly recommended. Well done to the management and staff
Stayed here on Sat 9th Sept, room 9 was spotlessly clean, excellent choice from the dinner menu, quality of the food was superb.
I would recommend anyone to stay here, accommodation cost was very reasonable too. Staff were very friendly Can't fault the place, filling breakfast too.
9.5/10 would have loved black pudding on the breakfast menu and they would have received a 10/10.
We didn't stay so I can't comment on the rooms. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of vegetarian specials available. There were four of us and between us we had 3 different starters and 3 different mains. They were all well prepared and presented, we enjoyed them all. Although the staffing was a bit limited and it was quite busy we were looked after well.
Went here today. Had fish chips and peas. My partner had scampi great service. Great place. Chips done in dripping. Oh wow so much choice. Will be coming back to try curries fish pie ect. Great prices ... And the staff amazing. Thank you so much. See you very soon ...
I can't share a review on the rooms, but couldn't leave it at no stars.
The staff were all lovely, and well managed.
Resturant and bar were full to the brim and we had a short wait for a table (our own fault for turning up at peak time without booking). It didn't effect the top service in anyway, and we didn't wait long. Happily sat at the bar with a drink.
Food was excellent and value for money.
Atmosphere was homey and inviting.
(Coke on draught not pepsi...And they were proper chips too!)
Stayed one night on the way up to Yorkshire. Very nice and clean room. Both evening meal and breakfast was excellent.

Lovely Sunday roast just not enough gravy only so.e on the beef and were to busy to ask someone for more ...maybe an idea to ask if a gravy boat is needed ...or a check back on the table to see if everything is OK then could have asked for more .
