Booked 2 x table of eight side by side but when arrived we were all on a long table making chatting hard from one end to another.Having said that is the only negative.....The staff were well trained in there job and very attentive.The food was fantastic and the portions were huge.Every one of the family loved there time there.The menu has something for everyone and while some may think it's a tad expensive I certainly didn't given the size and the quality.We were in the restaurant and the decor and the ambience was great.Five stars from me and would recommend to anyone.
I've had a few meals in The White Lion in the past and have enjoyed the service andambience. Took 3 friends there yesterday. And we all enjoyed a great meal with great service. I would highly recommend it anybody.
Came in on Saturday 14th January to have a reunion and there were 11 of us. The food and portion sizes were excellent and prices were accurate for what we got. Staff were lovely, helpful and polite. The setting was beautiful, plenty of room for large tables or small. Will definitely come again.
Nice varied menu. Pleasent helpful staff. My breakfast was piping hot and plentiful, I really enjoyed it. Overall well impressed with the whole pub.
Eat at this place atleast once a month, sometimes more! Food is always absolutely delicious and staff are really lovely. Booked a table a couple of weeks ago for my mums birthday for 10 of us and everyone really enjoyed the food and the waiter looked after us well. Came in yesterday and will be back again soon �

Fantastic 3 courses for £15 , garlic mushrooms served in a small pot with warm bread , followed by mixed cheese & onion pie with homemade chips & veg , then apple pie with custard , great service as well in hut 33 outside !

It's a pub. Serves good pub food. Huge servings and inexpensive.
My wife and I had just flown in from Australia and by 5pm were struggling to stay awake. We chose the White Lion from previous experience and we're glad we did. By 5.30pm was full. 2 appetisers followed by Meat Pie and Chips for me and Fish for my wife. 3 pints of lovely Ale and a couple of glasses of wine for my wife. £33 for the lot. A bargain and the quality of the food was good. No foam, no sous vide, no nitrogen. Just good Pub Grub.
Wow!! I had the chicken fajita and my partner had the gluten free haddock. Food was amazing we will definitely be returning. Recommend booking a table here before arriving as the venue was very popular. Staff were attentive and had a gluten free menu available. This venue is also dog friendly with a dog menu with treats!

We visited on 18th August in the morning for breakfast. Lucy served us outside and was an absolute delight. Really chatty and attentive. The food was delicious. Cannot recommend this place more!✨
After remembering how much I enjoyed this pub we visited again for lunch. Let's hope I dont leave it as long between visits again.
The pizzas have always been very tasty and did not disappoint. I also thoroughly enjoyed my sundae for dessert.
I left feeling very full indeed.
Called in here for a breakfast on a cold morning after a walk! Breakfast was delicious with more than enough to keep me goin until Teatime!

This may seem a bit strange to say but it is far easier to give a damning or critical review than it is to give one that contains nothing other than praise and compliments! We were a tiny bit concerned given that they have a lot of reviews and some of the more recent ones have been a bit variable. However, we are grateful we decided to visit.
We were greeted very politely and shown immediately to a spacious outdoor pod with a decently powerful overhead heater (this was given a test when there was a sudden blustery gusting few minutes of wind - full marks for the heater).
Great outdoors seating and pods - all very neat and comfortable.
Service throughout was pleasant and done politely with a smile.
Right through to settling the bill everything was carried out efficiently and happily.
Not to forget the reason for our visit the food was good quality as well as being served fairly speedily and absolutely piping hot. They even had french mustard available - which is a test of the quality of most pubs or restaurants who serve meat dishes.
There, obviously, has to be one issue which was the chips were rather puddingy - rather more boiled than deep fried!
After all of this the toilets were absolutely spotless and fresh smelling but the single electric hand drier in the gents failed to work.
Overall full marks for ambiance, atmosphere, staff efficiency and food quality. Thanks.
Lovely place. Reasonably busy Wednesday evening without a booking and seated straight away. X food/drinks delicious and service with smiles. Had to go to reception to get cutlery, and 2 other tables around us had to ask for cutlery also, so that was the only point to make, but not an issue.
Been on a couple of visits now. Once for a birthday breakfast and today an impromptu visit on a cycle ride. Both times the staff were really friendly and the service, food and atmosphere were excellent. Will definitely be planning more visits here.
Great food, value and service at the recently refurbished White Lion. Several nights are themed including quiz and poker nights. On Saturday live music is also played to supplement the great beer and food. The pub is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner always to a high standard. For lunch and dinner booking a table is advised because of the pub's popularity. At lunchtimes there is a main menu and a light bites menu. Food on the latter menu is plentiful at lunchtime.

An unexpected find while out and about. The outdoor area is lovely and even on cooler days there are heaters. Very friendly staff.
A great meal with fantastic service however a couple of points. The meat in the steak pies was dry and overdone. The Gammon was great but unfortunately there was no fat on the gammon which could have improved it. The thick cut chips were probably too undercooked and definitely too big and would have been better if crispier on the outside and a normal chip size. However portions were sufficient and the service was both polite and efficient.
What a great place for breakfast/brunch.
Recommended to come here, this was our first time and we weren't disappointed as a party of 6

Went for a family meal out, all 7 of us were very impressed with the food and great menu for all. Plenty of vegetarian options. It had a lovely large outside area too and is dog friendly.
Family and dog friendly pub. Good and varied menu. Value for money and the garden offers both open area with tables along with surrounding sheltered booths for dining.
Water in bowls provided for dogs along with a special menu for your 🐕 👍

First time here but won't be the last. I was surprised it was so busy for a Tuesday lunchtime. We would have liked to have sat outside but there was only a table directly in the sun available when we asked, so went inside instead, which is nice. Food was nice and staff seemed friendly. I'd definitely try and book first next time and try different options off the menu.
