I had a fantastic experience at The Tavern in Widnes. The car park provided easy access to the building, making it very convenient. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the great atmosphere and warm welcome from the staff. The bar and dining area were beautifully decorated and impeccably clean
Had a nice family meal, our children enjoyed their meals and desserts too. Unfortunately we experienced very slow service in what appeared to be not the busiest of times.

Visited for the first time in years for a mid week lunch. Ordered the steak sandwich, which was pleasant, but the onions and peppers on it lacked flavour. They could have done with cooking a bit more as they were soggy rather than caramelised. Also a little more expensive than other pubs in the area
Never disappointed! We have been many times; the staff are superb just like the food, and prices are reasonable. One of the best pubs within 5 miles of Runcorn. We love it.
We've just had a very tasty meal with a desert for £15.95. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We've been on the busiest of days in the past, and the service was excellent then.

First time in there today for some food and we were not disappointed. Food was lovely and fresh. I had sweet chilli chicken and it was delicious. My wife and daughter also loved their food, a carbonara and a steak sandwich. It was so good we booked a table for Sunday dinner for tomorrow. Excellent.

After living in widnes for 8 years I can't believe we've never tried here before. I presumed it was going to be same old standard pub good but actually it was very good. We had scallops for starters followed by beef fillet kebabs.
The food was home cooked and very good value. Would definitely recom
