Awesome place to go for a great coffee, amazing homemade cakes and good food. Breakfast served early then onto full lunches with a good variety on the menu. Place is light and nicely decorated and in a wonderful spot. Great in winter with log fires and in summer when you can enjoy sitting outside. Took my son on New Year's Eve for brunch before we were going for a run and play on Haytor. Not been for a while but Edward the owner remembered me, as well as Fifi my dog, as the place is very dog friendly. Missed seeing Liz and Maisie though.... My son had the BLT.... door stop size fresh bread with homemade coleslaw salad and crisps....but he ate it all as was so yummy he said. My Haytor ploughman's had a very yummy homemade black pudding scotch egg, local cheddar, local lovely thick gammon ham, coleslaw bread etc. We were too full to sample the delicious looking homemade cakes. They also have wifi, useful as the rest of Dartmoor is basically a mobile phone and data blackspot. My son was glad they did. Highly recommend a visit here for good quality service from all the friendly staff, great coffee, cakes and food. They also do Sunday roasts.....

We have been to the Cafe on the Green a few times now. The food is always excellent with a good selection on the menu. It's beautifully done out with a welcoming cosy feel. Great also that we can take our dog in, who also gets a few little treats! All the staff are just lovely..Cannot recommend this place enough... we love it..x

Another amazing roast, the beef was melt in the mouth. Enjoyed the whole meal with tasty ice cream to finish, the staff are always very busy but find time to be friendly and polite.

Lovely, warm and cosy. Very friendly staff and excellent service. And... the best pot of tea, very welcome after a cold blustery walk above Widecombe!

Great place with the most friendly and helpful staff, Tuna Sandwich was my choice and fabulous it was. The Sunday Dinner looked awesome but as I was Cycling kept it light. The manager also went out his way to provide additional tools to repair a fellow cyclists broken Chain. Service above and beyond I’m definitely returning

We’ve just spent some time in Widecombe and The Cafe on the Green served us 2 excellent meals at Steve Knightley’s gigs on 13.3 and 21.3! Fabulous food and served so well given how many people they were catering for in one go!

Have always visited this café when in Widecombe in the Moor. Lovely setting in one of Dartmoor's prettiest villages. Friendly staff and good food of reasonable value.

The cafe has evolved over the years from a basic tea room to a more sophisticated location serving breakfasts and lunch as well, of course, as Devon cream teas! Comfortable interior with some cosy seating and well equipped garden for sunny days. Free wi-fi is essential for those using the Ringo app to pay for parking! Perfect stop-off point if you’re exploring Dartmoor.

A lovely cafe in an interesting barn style building that really feels open with large hanging lights. A variety of seats ranging from comfy sofas to large benches for big families. Get there early to avoid queue for seats. A good variety of food available but personally the pricing is very steep. For £14 for a cooked breakfast I would expect a lot more on the plate.

What a find! Popped in for coffee, stayed for breakfast! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating; amazing staff who are polite, quick and efficient; everywhere looks clean and tidy; and the breakfast and coffee the best I’ve had in a long time. Seriously can not fault this place!

Fabulous cream teas. The cheese scones with cheese and chutney were very highly recommended by my friends. Excellent drinks choices. Roomy and pleasant interior seating. Extensive outdoor seating too.

If you're visiting Dartmoor, then this place is a great option for food and drink. They serve breakfast, lunch, sweet treats, and cream teas. I believe they're dog friendly, definitely people friendly, and there's even a little gift store. You can't book a table, but there's plenty of space. It's next to a car park (pay and display) and has free Wi-Fi. FYI: The car park doesn't take cards, and the phone signal is not good. Nonetheless, don't let that deter you from visiting.

A beautiful little area to explore & a wonderfully inviting place to grab a 'bite'. Everything you would expect from a top-rated venue & has a nice range of snacks meals & beverages (although we were just too late for their tasty 'breakfast' offering!). As soon as my wife had ordered, the WHOLE order arrived to our table literally 3 minutes after...Incredible service! The clotted cream in their cream teas is extremely thick & delicious...WELL DONE, GUYS!!
