Been going to v.c jones for 20+ years and the food is as good as it was the first time I gone I love it how it keep it in the family and place has change hardly but no matter what time of year you go it still as good. I don't care that I travel 40+ miles it's still my favourite fish and chip shop

My wife and I came down from East Yorkshire to visit our son in Canterbury. Having been to Whistable before and eating here. We went out of our way to come back to VC Jones before heading back to East Yorkshire. Craving Saveloy and Chips. ( Saveloys cannot be found anywhere in East Yorkshire chip shops) A lovely meal served by a polite young lady. No doubt next time we come down to Canterbury we will stop again here before going home.

Nothing better than cod & chips whilst sitting on the beach after a long week at work. The fish is divine and the chips are the best I have ever tasted.

Excellent fish and chips! We were very impressed with the fish and chips. Proper chips and a nice crisp but light batter on the fish. Lush! Wish you were closer to us so we could come back again and again!

Coming from Grimsby I don't often eat Haddock whilst away, but have to say this was the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time.

Such delicious fish, light and flaky. As for chips, fresh not greasy. Our second visit and not disappointed. Staff really friendly. A down-to-earth little fish & chip cafe.

Lovely food. Really enjoyed the fish and chips. Bread roll wasn't the best however! Waiting staff were great. Only other downside was the dining room was too hot - air con required!

Cod, scampi, chips and mushy peas were delicious and piping hot, and the portions were very large. We couldn't quite finish but wanted to assure the staff we had really enjoyed it. They were attentive and cheerful. Near the coast and with its time warp signage and decor, this is the sort of place you'd take friends from other countries to experience proper English fish and chips.

Excellent fish and chips. The beef dripping that they use definitely adds something. Good portion sizes, friendly staff and reasonably priced

This is real fish and chips! Always freshly cooked and tasty. Staff, especially Madeline are so helpful and courteous, always ready for a friendly chat. Love the decor, so reminds me of my school days being treated by Mum and Dad on a Saturday! Keep up the good work, it's lovely.

Had a day out in Whitstable and went in to VC Jones for our Lunch. There were 4 of us and between us we had Skate, 2 Cod and Rock eel with chips and mushy peas etc. Excellent, beautiful flavour, enjoyed every mouthful. The lady who served us was really lovely. We all live in Essex but will certainty make a beeline for some more of the same. Excellent in all aspects

fish and chips generally is either good, mediocre or bad ... except for about 1 % of the time and this is what makes that rare exception. outstanding fish that is cooked just right and what I can only describe as "proper" English chips.

VC Jones had incredible tasting fish and chips but the wait for it seemed like it was 40 - 50 minutes long . Which in my book is way too long to wait when the place is almost empty except one other family and your kids are very hungry. Also there are no refills on drinks for the Americans out there.

Professional stuff, the size of meal was suitable for two adults . I was really fortunate there was no long queue to order pickup as well . Eventually, the fees was quite good. Highly recommend restaurant. Cod and chips were I tried.

Every time I passed V C Jones there was a queue of people so I had to try. Friendly and helpful staff with a traditional fish and chips menu. Beef dripping does give it depth of flavour that you don't get so much with inland fish and chip shop.

Being a seaside town, there are a vast array of places to buy fish and chips. A friend recommended VC Jones however, and it was an excellent recommendation. Great chips that weren't at all flabby, the batter on the fish was crispy and light, the portion of scampi wasn't skimpy! We took them round to eat in the beach and they were great!

We had two cod fish and chips with salt and vinegar. Great chips and very tasty fish. There is no dine in option, but you can enjoy it at the beach which is located very close to the store. Reasonable price. Highly recommended when in Whitstable.

We stopped for lunch at V C Jones last week. There were four if us. One had Skate, one had Rock eel and two of us had cod, all with chips and mushy peas. All excellent. Service was fantastic. Will look forward to visiting again when we are in Whitstable again from Essex

By far the best cod and chips we have ever had! It was worth the wait. No wonder there was a queue as people travel distance to sample the best in Kent. The fish and the chips were cooked to perfection. The staff were extremely busy but were very friendly and polite. We can only imagine that the bad reviews are from rival establishments!

Big delicious fish and chips! Price was fine around £10. They charge a little more to sit in so takeaway makes more sense. Loved the fish! Nice curry sauce.

Very nice chips, lovely service too. The sausage in batter could have done with a bit more cook time but overall very nice. Recommended

No frills restaurant that serves traditional fish and chips with mushy peas (if desired). What makes me give it 5 stars is the fantastic service of their staff. We arrived on bicycles, dripping wet and very hungry and they couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating.
