Impressed by the solid 4.5 ratings on both TripAdvisor and Google, we decided to reserve a table during peak hours. The place buzzed with a lively atmosphere and friendly patrons. Seating and service were almost instant, despite the sizable takeaway queue. Today's revelation: they do take cards, a c
** BE ADVISED ** You cannot sit at the tables if you order from the chip shop on the right. It’s table service on the left and takeaway only on the right. Very nice fish and chips from the left hand side. Decent cup of tea with the spoon left in the mug which I appreciated. They do beer and cider an
This is by far THE BEST squid rings I've ever had no questions asked! They are amazing! So soft and tender and the sauce was incredible, the fish and chips (we had cod fish) also exceed by far my expectations.
Please do your self a favor and go have some squid rings and fish and chips!

We were down in Whitstable for a day out and after a lovely day, we were looking for some fish and chips. We chose to dine in at Ossies. The lady server made us feel very welcome and she was very friendly. The food was amazing too. Would definitely recommend and if we come back to Whitstable, we’ll
Stopped here for lunch (Saturday) you dine inside, outside, or takeaway.
Decor is simple but clean. I ordered the haddock and chips, which were delicious and not oily with lovely chips. Staff were attentive and polite. Extra large fish for £1 extra.
I will pop in again when I'm in the area.
I forgot ordered the side menu, even though I can select that. It is very nice fish and chips
Excellent fish and chips, not the often greasy food, this is perfect. Extremely pleasant staff, very trusting as I had to go back with cash after my meal overlooking the beach.
Run by a true gentleman, will go again and again.
Excellent fish and chips and very popular judging by the queue. Also tried their homemade desserts, excellent. There are several fish and chip shops in the area bearing the same name but this one (Tankerton) apparently not part of that chain. Came back a week later to try the sit down restaurant. Ta
In my short visit to UK, i went thru London, Ipswich and Whitstable. I was intrigued by Ossies' claim to best fish n chips in Kent. Wasn't disappointed after satisfying my curiosity. However my first would be a certain outlet in Ipswich. But since that's not in Kent, there's no competition! Plus for
Well Recommended for fish & chips. Very friendly and helpful staff. Huge portions of delicious, fresh, fish & chips. Ossie talked me in to trying rock fish and his home made tiramisu - both were fantastic and we look forward to retiring for the Sunday roast cod!
This is my favourite take away for fish and chips. Always so fresh and tasty and always a queue so be prepared to wait but that tells you how good the food is.
Been back many times. The fish is caught locally and served beautifully. Prices are very reasonable an the service excellent and always with a smile. If you want the best fish n chips in town, this is the plaice...
Simply the best fish and chips.
Nice seating area inside and out.
Friendly staff..gluten free if needed.
Don't miss this gem.
We had 2 sets of fish and chips,Haddock and Plaice. Both pieces of fish were huge, at least 1.5x the size of an adult's palm. They were also perfectly cooked - delightfully crispy on the outside whilst tender, juicy and flaky inside.
The fries, however, were rather dry (see closeup photo). The mana
