We (minus the brother) really enjoyed this tea room, it wasn't you're 'quirky' type that you normally expect and so it was set in a nice, spacious part of the Spanish City building. The staff were very friendly and despite experiencing a bit of a hardware failure with the till, they managed to keep things running smoothly and kept the atmosphere lively! The restaurant itself was great, with plenty to choose from on the lunch time menu, to the vibrant patisserie counter, we were a little spoilt for choice! Location was excellent, right on the sea front and a not so long walk away from Whitley Bay Metro.

Beautiful tea shop in the Spanish area. Tables inside and outside with sea views. You get a table number, order inside and a waitress brings the food within minutes. Beautiful porcelain and cutlery but wooden sticks for spoons. Delicious tea and cakes. Really good treat!

Nice little cafe/tea room in a lovely spot, very close to the beach. Food and cakes looked lovely, large selection on the menu, beer ice cold and coffee was really tasty. Staff attentive and chatty, large seating area indoor and out. Also dog friendly outdoors (not sure about indoors) nice atmosphere too

Visited for breakfast with a couple of friends. We were slightly worried that we might have had to wait for a table but found one no problem despite it being a rather busy Saturday morning (following Parkrun nearby). The hustle and bustle created a really nice atmosphere. We didn't have to wait too long to be served at the counter or for the food to be brought out. I had planned on a bigger breakfast choice, but after seeing the cakes on offer, opted for a cheese scone and shared a lemon meringue. We all felt that it was very reasonably priced for the quality of food and the clean and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning!

We enjoyed our treat out. Lovely food, well presented. Really enjoyed my Victoria cake. Helpful staff. Price's are in the general area for other establishments.

Lovely tea room at Spanish City. Overlooking the sea. Upstairs seating area is quite generous and definitely not kid friendly (glad I didn't bring my son). Lovely for a tea and cake. Signage isn't clear enough to find a table then order. I think a placard needs to be placed outside as we ended up queuing twice. (Not sure how you'd reserve a table if you were by yourself?) We had the Lemon cheesecake (pictured) and Chocolate Fudge cake. Both were beautiful.

A lovely cafe in the Spanish City building (not under the main dome!) A good selection of light meals, scones and cakes with the usual range of hot drinks. The seating areas are spacious with plenty of room between tables. The loos were spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly, efficient and were happy to add chutney for my 'stand alone' cheese scone when I had spotted a mention of it in their great value afternoon tea offer. Indeed, the prices overall demonstrated excellent value.

Always a great place to dine in Whitley bay. The service is fantastic, it's clean, busy and offers a great selection of food all reasonably priced. Casual eating downstairs with a little more formal upstairs. You can access it from the roadside or from the carpark entrance at the back. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Beautiful place to stop for lunch. Expensive compared to other places but food tasted great. Could have done with a few extra tables outside as had to wait a while to get served. (It was late august when visited)

Proper old school tea room. The crab sandwich is a highlight. Such lovely service. Seems like a community hub. Go!

Love this venue. Great choice of quality cakes and snacks. Coffee seems to have extra shot as standard which i think is great. Plenty of seating with lots of friendly staff. Also, being in the “Spanish center” of Whitley bay, means that parking isn’t a problem either.

SPANISH CITY-VALS TEA ROOM🍋 Lovely weather for whitley Bay. What a beautiful place in the sun. The avocado on toast was a 7/10 I left hungry that could have been me or the eggs haha. No complaints just had better really same with the eggs royale, portions a little small but no real complaints. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the desserts looked absolutely devine 10/10 but never actually reied one. Smoothies were nice too , all reasonably priced.. A little mix up with the menu being printed backwards but they were so helpful and sorted it out. The food was lovely. I recommend the sandwiches, just don't order them before 11:30, never mind what the menu says

Called in for breakfast with grandkids after a walk. It didn't disappoint The breakfast rolls were well worth the money. My grandson was spoiled for choice as he eyed the cakes and my granddaughter can definitely recommend the smoothie. Staff were polite and really friendly. Will be back.
