Visited tonight for the first time. Didn't have a reservation but they found us a seat within about 5 minutes. The food was outstanding. The staff curry was legendary. The service was top notch and the place was buzzing.
We loved that there were folks of all ages enjoying meals.
No wonder they keep winning awards. Shampan is legitimately outstanding.

All the food was tasty and I really enjoyed it- the only thing that wasn’t great was the lentil dahl, wouldn’t have that again, no flavour and too soupy, but otherwise an excellent meal! Thank you 🍛
One of the meal requirements in England is to eat authentic Imperial Indian food. You will not be disappointed at all! My friend had the Lamb stew, I had a chicken. For appetizers meat samosa in one of the best sauce, I have ever had. We had a potato Nan, and a fruit and nut Nan .

First time going and we will be back, loved the whole experience, food, drinks and staff.
Always a five star service from the Shahenshah, right from the off they make you feel at home, and they have done an excellent job on the décor, really brought it up to date in every respect, but what about the real reason you are reading this... the food! well I can only speak for the several times my family and I have been and it has always been spot on, I am a vindaloo man myself and this is probably in the top 3 I have ever had and I have had hundreds lol, my wife has the madras or the dansak and has never had any complaints, we always try to go first thing in the evening when it is quiet and so get quicker service and you can always have a bit of banter with the staff who do a great job. If you are a curry connoisseur like myself, get down to the Shahenshah and tell them Shaun sent you.

This restaurant is fabulous all round, clean, well appointed, lovely staff and excellent service, and great value for the delicious high-quality food. Easily one of the nicest restaurants we've ever been to, and easily holds its own against its neighbours! Outstanding. We will definitely return!
We had a wonderful takeaway last night. So delicious and not greasy at all like many we have had. I would strongly recommend.

We were well looked after and the food is really excellent.
Went with my wife unplanned so hadn’t booked. Food really was delicious. She is a picky vegetarian so it’s a challenge to find stuff she likes but the paneer meal for her was perfect. Very fairly priced and the waiter serving us was very friendly. I was looking for something a bit spicy and they delivered. On a strip in Whitley Bay with a very good selection of restaurants to eat at.
Absolutely amazing were on time best takeaway iv had in ages by far. I definitely would recommend ordering your food from here If you like a good very well cooked curry 🙂
Amazing food, lovely service and really reasonable price! Garlik naan was so moreish and the staff couldn't do enough for you! Set menu was perfect after a night out in the cold!
Great food. Fair prices. Presented well. They haven't put a foot wrong. I'm now a regular and get on really well with staff. Would recommend to anyone.
Just had a first class meal at the Shahenshah. The restaurant decor has been refurbished to a really high standard, and the staff were very friendly. Excellent mixed kebab starter. The chicken tikka balti was fresh and really tasty. Best chips in an Indian restaurant by far. I'm definitely going back.
