Service is good. Staff are friendly and polite. Nice dining environment with live piano music.
We ordered:
fish&chips, fish tastes fresh and tender;
fish pie, which my friend enjoyed a lot;
and oysters, which are fresh and of very good quality, a must-try. Although ponzu sauce is just lemon.

Near the Spanish City we found this fish and chips shop with outside sitting on wooden benches.
Great views and a lovely place with tasty fish good size and well cooked. The chips were also very nice but overpriced for the quantity.

Beautiful setting, the building and decor is just perfect! Good choice of food on the menu. I decided on the cod pieces, king prawns, chips, salad and chilli sauce. Very filling and not greasy!

Fantastic venue, fish and chips OK but nothing special. Attitude of some staff left a lot to be desired. They got two orders mixed up, not familiar with menu and questioned our orders. A smile would have been nice, perhaps some staff training would be of benefit!

Excellent food in an elegant airy venue. Lots of light and space and a pianist playing a mix of tunes and requests. It made for a delightful, slightly informal atmosphere in a beautiful landmark building. Service was excellent. I look forward to going again!

We've eaten at Trenchers a few times and always enjoyed it but I do feel that ultimately it's just an over blown chippy tea.
