If, like us, you want a venue which is an adult restaurant with a fantastic food yet you need to have somewhere that kids are not just tolerated but welcomed and catered for I would recommend this place to you!!
it is genuinely hard to find a place like this. If you have young children but don't want to go to generic restaurants this is the place for you.
The food is outstanding, portions are brilliant. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and the kids are very welcome and feel like they are catered for very well.
We have been a few times and feel like it is the perfect venue for most events.
Childrens food is top quality and the children's area is perfect for toddlers.
Just go. You will not be disappointed!
What a find!!! I'd highly recommend this little jewel of a local, family run bistro. A lovely balance between quiet and busily informal, family friendly. Food was super tasty, portion sizes perfect. Service was fantastic. The clientele ranged; couples and families enjoyed alike. I took my class of 8 wonderful children, all whom have a range of profound and complex needs. Usually we find having our whole class catered for tricky, needing space for wheel chairs and adequate changing facilities. We were MORE THAN IMPRESSED!! Staff were vigilant, going above and beyond expectation to meet our needs, any queries were answered perfectly. What a breath of fresh air to find actual user friendly changing room. Great sizable changing bed, a huge contrast from the baby sized tables we are used to accessing on public trips.

I booked for Fathers Day. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child. The food was outstanding - excellent quality, plenty of choice (so many I wanted to try), portion sizes were much bigger than I expected. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and very family friendly, it’s hard to find places which offer this along with quality food. Would definitely recommend - look forward to returning soon to work my way through the menu! I especially want to try the seafood stew!
Outstanding food. I had the potato skins which were amazing! As well as the spicy duck with the veggies and potatoes.... Got to have been a 5* dish,, couldn't have faulted anything about it. The prosecco was lovely too! Recommend everyone to go here, to try out the food. Lovely little kids area too and think it was mentioned they are holding a disco and buffet for the locals,, which is just so lovely..
Ate here tonight after hearing good reviews. Loads of dishes to choose from ranging from mussels, belly pork, duck and monkfish. Quaint little Bistro, lovely staff and the Irish Cheesecake was to die for. Good Gin selection too. Will definitely be returning soon for their festive menu - 3 course for only £15.95

Really enjoyed the whole experience at Evans Bistro today. The staff were lovely and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend it and will go again.
Absolutely fabulous. Massive menu of delicious choices. The waitresses were lovely - smiley and helpful. Music choices were great. Very tasteful decor. We all had a spectacular meal and we shall return. Thankyou x

Can’t believe that this was only our first visit to Evans! It definitely won’t be our last. Loved the food, great service, the kids area was a godsend, and lovely wine! We loved everything about it especially as a large party of 15, we often struggle to find somewhere to attend to such a big table but Evans were brilliant!

Nice Sunday lunch at reasonable prices. 4 adults all had different meats and all were very nice, as were children's meals. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Samuel Smith's organic lager, very nice and reasonable price. Lastly, if you like lashings of g gravy on your Sunday roast, this is the place for you.
Great food at reasonable prices. Staff very friendly. Left very happy. Will return. Only things that could be improved were..... . The dessert board. I can't believe the waiting staff are made to carry an easel around the restaurant. Please consider something smaller & more portable. Someone will fall over it one day when it's left in the walkways while diners consider their options. Also I couldn't see where the specials were published.

The food was high quality and tasted amazing, it was very much value for money. Evan's provides a wide range of menu options supported by a fantastic drinks menu. The service was first class and delivered with a smile. The atmosphere was spot on for meals with friends and family, it was also be suitable for dates. I have also booked the whole restaurant for an event and was again very impressed with the quality of service and food to cater for a group of 30+. I would highly recommend visiting Evan's Bistro which is a short walk from Whitley Bay metro and the sea front.
Went to Evan’s for the first time today with the family for Sunday Lunch. The menu had plenty of variety, great choices on the kids menu too. At £4.95 for a kids dinner, including pudding (ice cream) and a drink, we thought this represented very good value. Food was of a very good standard (we both had the chicken dinner) and the sticky toffee pudding and homemade honeycomb cheese cake were perfect as a cheeky pudding treat afterwards. Staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. A really nice environment and overall a great place to eat with an excellent menu. We will be back!
Brilliant atmosphere, fantastic food including gluten free pancakes that were perfect and fab staff. Well worth a visit.

If you visit Whitley Bay, or live in Whitley Bay, and you don't visit Evans Bistro, then you seriously need your head testing!
Great food. Great beer. (They have wine too, ladies) and second to none service.
I mean, why wouldn't you want a great night out in a great atmosphere and dine like a king ( or queen) without breaking the bank?
I visit the North East at least once a month.....and guess where I'll be dining from now on!
I visit establishments all over the country, and this is the very best dining experience, at an affordable price, I've had in a very long time.
Get down to Evans Bistro. .....NOW!
Oh, and if Vic serve's you, you'll witness the warmest smile in the North East. She's a credit to herself, the establishment and the wonderful people of the North East.
Food and Service were five star. Went with my wife and we both had the special Hunter's Chicken and it was marvelous!

Came here with my mum and we were both so impressed with the food, amazing prices and so tasty (I had roast sandwich of the day and it was so good!) and at really good prices as well. The girl who served us was really good too. Highly recommended 😊
Visited here recently with friends. Great atmosphere along with great food and you won’t be disappointed with the portion sizes! Friendly staff were more than helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be going again.
A fabulous bistro. Great food, well presented and very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and efficient. There is a play area for little toddlers. Has become a regular family haunt.
