We went to The Cannon Inn today for Father's Day, it was one of the best Sunday Lunches we have had in a long time, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the meal was delicious, lovely home cooked food, would highly recommend it, we'll be back, thank you
Was there last night and my starter of potato skins was huge and so lovely - I probably could have just had that - but ordered chicken Korma which was wonderful but I couldn’t eat it all - it’s now in my freezer to have another day (the staff were great in boxing it up for me!) my husband had the scotch eggs then the gammon and loved it, there was 4 of us but only one managed a desert - the Ferrero Roche cheesecake was a winner - I was back again for lunch today - hot roast beef stottie and chips and my friend had beef stroganoff- both lovely - we will all be going back x

Booked a table today for Sunday lunch. I was here just over 2 weeks ago,for a early evening tea that was excellent in every way possible. Today's meal didn't let us down, I had turkey and my husband had pork, the vegetables that came with it was really nice not over cooked or dried up like some places you go to, the meal was also pipping hot. Lovely homemade Yorkshire pudding, and unbelievable homemade stuffing. The amount of meat we had on our plates was more than plentiful and tasted delicious. The waitress were very nice,really pleasant, and gave us a warm welcome. Cant wait to go back again. The only down fall we had was sitting on table 5 was very chilly when customers came into the pub and didn't close the door behind them. It still hasn't put us of as food is so good here.
When we first got there we thought the place wasn't very child friendly; but the excellent food and the wonderful, friendly staff won us over. Would recommend anyone tries it. You won't be disappointed.
A proper pub - fab atmosphere, marvellous food, great ales and lovely staff. A hidden treasure.

Had Sunday lunch at The Canon for the first time yesterday and it was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection, it was well presented and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be paying another visit soon!
Visited here for the first time for food despite living minutes away for years! I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious and served hot and fresh. I had the mince and dumplings which were divine. Portion was massive so I couldn't finish it but I'll definitely be back.
Always lovely and welcoming. Popped in last night by chance. Packed. Fantastic meal. Also just to add, much better now they have modernised the toilets, added a conservatory and new kitchen. But kept the feel the same.

Lovely home cooked fayre, a warm family run pub, with the friendliest of atmospheres and now a good range of top gins too! What else do you need???
The food is outstanding loads to choose from on the menu. Portion size is really good. Came on a rainy day and had mince and dumplings, never able to eat more than one course meal here. Would recommend booking for a Sunday as it can quite busy. I think it would be nice just to have some background music on in the background

Friendly staff and you can get hot drinks as well as the usual alcohol. Small function room available for intimate occasions.
Had a lovely afternoon tea. Really great value for money and had a doggy bag to bring cake home. Good selection. Lovely friendly staff. Excellent disabled wc facilities if you have a mobility issue. The Cannon is becoming a regular place to visit 🙂
Lacking in atmosphere but mainly because it was a quiet lunch time. Food was good value but I think it was microwave heated!!!

A really nice local pub for a pint. I haven’t eaten there yet, but it always smells good. I will try for myself at some point.
Lovely little village pub with fantastic home cooked food. Having an option of portion sizes was great. I went for a small chilli and it was more than enough!
Excellent Sunday dinners vegan and meat and good choice of desserts again vegan and non vegan.
It has been some time since I last visited. The menu selection is very good, came fresh and hot. The dessert was gorgeous. I'll recommend it to my friends.
My wife and I cant remember the last time that we had a better Sunday Lunch.The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly and attentive.
The food was excellent and competitively priced. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Excellent experience. Seated straight away, order taken for drinks immediately then food order taken on return with the drinks. Food arrived ten minutes later. Sunday roast was really good. Service was first class from the lovely Maddie, who was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Good choice on menu and food all home made and delicious, don't know how they cook their chips, but they're exceptional!
Our party had corned beef pie, sausage and mash, mince and dumplings and a hot pork stottie with chips, everyone was highly satisfied with their food and we'll definitely be going back soon!

Just enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch here. We both had pork which was delicious and accompanied by potatoes and veg which were cooked to perfection and I'm pleased to say not microwaved to death!! All the staff were very friendly and service was spot on. We haven't been here since before covid and it's great to see that this lovely pub has survived.We will look forward to many more visits.
