We have just moved to Whitley Bay and knew about Hinnies as friends had recommeded it. All I can say is OH MY GOD!! This place did not disappoint...my husband had "the best breakfast he has ever had" and I had the Singin Hinnies which were to die for! I didnt catch the name of lady with dark hair that served us but she was lovely too - service with a smile :) Will be certainly be back (probably tomorrow!)

Had heard good things about Hinnies & have wanted to visit for a long time. Couldn't be happier - you didn't disappoint Hinnies !! Gorgeous menu, delicious food, lovely atmosphere & fantastic service. My mushroom wellington was heaven on a plate & others in our party said it was the nicest meal they'd had for a long while. A real gem in Whitley Bay - can't wait to come back.

First time at Hinnies and was really impressed. Service was quick, staff were lovely and the food was wonderful. Vegetarian and vegan choices which was great so choice for everyone. Lovely decor. My only complaint, if any, and I would be nitpicking, is our table of 4 seemed to be on top of the table behind us and I had to really squeeze to get out as the table behind was at a different angle to ours, and I had to apologise to the lady behind me to get my chair moved, but apart from that it was fab.

First time at Hinnies this past Saturday night with great friends during my visit from America! What a special treat! The absolute best fish and chips I've ever had! I shared the fish cakes starter with a friend and it was fab! Oh, and the sticky toffee pudding with banana ice cream! O M G!!!! Everything was fantastic! I had a seat near the window with an excellent view of the sea! You cannot get any better than that!

Absolutely stunning food and excellent service here. Beautiful blends of flavours and high quality ingredients. Portions are generous and fairly priced for what you get (the early evening deal is £21 for 2 courses, £25 for 3). Greag selection of drinks with lots beers and wines to try. Interior is nice and toilets are clean. Was a tad chilly on our visit recently so take a cardigan (i fed this back so may be different for you). No parking but there is street parking nearby. The menu changes regularly which makes coming here very exciting! Highly recommend

Cracking local restaurant. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. The interior was a nice design and menu had some lovely local twists and some nice choices that weren't the norm. I opted for the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce followed by a lush hazelnut and caramel cheesecake. My mam enjoyed her rabbit Wellington and dark chocolate tart. Will definitely return, hopefully without the car to sample some cocktails. There's a carpark 2 minutes walk along the front next to Spanish City which is only £3 for the whole day.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. My wife and I walked in at start of evening service and although they were booked up solid for the week they found a nice spot for us right away. Service and food were amazing and a perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place for a nice, quiet intimate meal.

A wonderful and authentic meal, every course was incredibly tasty and special in it’s own right. The sticky toffee pudding is delicious and was just as I remembered it. The £25 set menu is great and makes the restaurant accessible if you’re on a budget.

Beautiful dinner in this restaurant on Whitley Bay sea front. Great selection of dishes on offer with some Geordie traditional food thrown in. Everything we had was very good and the service was very prompt and efficient. Cosy atmosphere and food reasonably priced for the high standard of cuisine. Would highly recommend if you are in the Whitley Bay area.

Had a lovely three course meal at Hinnies. Food was all fresh, delicious and locally sourced. Great knowledge from the staff when recommending wines and they helpfully catered to all of my gluten free needs as a coeliac. I'll be back!

Promotional deal for January ; 3 courses for £13. Very good value. Portions generous especially starter of North Sea fishcake and desserts of sticky toffee pudding and spiced apple and rhubarb crumble. Mains braised beef shin casserole very tasty as was pork belly with black pudding mash although couldn't taste much of the black pudding. Had a couple of cocktails for a tenner but found them disappointing ( although to be honest we are not really cocktail regulars ). Every table taken on our visit at 1pm on the 30th.

I am lucky to have this restaurant on my doorstep, and have been a few times this year [2023]. Chris, the Maître d', is welcoming and softly spoken and the staff are always friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and calming, and it's right on the seafront. I have read a few of the 1 start reviews, and have to disagree with all of them, I have always found the staff welcoming and friendly, and the food delicious. It is made to order, so don't expect fast food. If I was to be critical, I'd say the cocktails weren't great - so maybe just stick to wine. The other lovely thing about Hinnies is that you can take your dog in with you - which is brilliant. It's easy to book online, and they send confirmation and reminder texts before your visit. I was recently there with my five friends and we all had something different - every plate was empty. Parking is a bit tricky as there is nowhere on the seafront to park, so park in the side streets and walk around.

Very rarely give 5 stars for a restaurant but in the case of Hinnies it's well deserved. Excellent food, pleasant staff what more could you want. Starters were Scotch egg & mushroom soup. Mains were Lamb & Chicken we ate the desserts before I could take a picture but would thoroughly recommend the Summer fruits pudding.

Heard great things about Hinnies, but just got round myself to trying it. Loved it! Well worth the visit. Gorgeous good, lovely vibe and wonderful staff. There wasn't anything I had that I didn't like! I had the corner beef panacalty (a layered potato and cheese dish - not entirely dissimilar to dauphinoise potato, with cheese instead of cream) - loved it!
