I love this place, the decor is quirky, the staff are really friendly and efficient. But the menu is the best thing, unusual fusions and tastes and all freshly made. The Continental sharing platter is awesome. Highly recommend this place.
Called in for something to eat at Cafe 19 in Whitley Bay today for a late lunch. Didn't really know what to expect but it far exceeded my expectations? The food was delicious - the Mediterranean platter for one was one huge portion of food which considered of about seven pieces of different meats and about the same amount of cheese. This came with two types of gorgeous bread and an excellent selection of chutneys, pickles, coleslaw and salad. My husband had the sausage panini which again was a big portion of food and this came with salad. Both the meals and two coffees came to £18 which was excellent value for money.
Highly recommend this place... after being a regular at the now old location in Heaton we finally got to come along to Cafe 19 and wasn't disappointed. We had the American bugger and it was fab... good deal at only £6! £2 extra for a good size portion of fries too
Hopefully will be back soon to try some of the new breakfast options available
Nice to see the lovely staff/family we got to know whilst in Heaton! Great job on the new place guys
Fab place. Staff are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The food is fabulous here, with an extensive choice and even a great kids menu, which many cafes lack. This place is a great new addition to whitley bay! Highly recommend.
Lovely cafe with friendly and helpful staff. The food was lovely with the only complaint that it was such a generous portion I couldn't eat it all. Would recommend it.
Had an amazing early lunch on Friday with friends. So much food and so reasonable. Fish finger sandwich to die for. Will certainly be back.
Just had the most amazing lunch here. The food was delicious, the staff are fantastic, and even better than that when I asked for a hand with wheelchair up the few steps they actually had ramps to put out which made the place accessible with the wheel chair. Thank you we will definitely be back.
Great cafe! I had a huge Mediterranean salad which was so tasty, whilst my boyfriend had a banana milk shake which he finished in about a minute (he loved it that much) and a gourmet beef burger with loads of sweet potato fries! We were full and very content all day ha! Highly recommended! Had a sea view too 👌🏽
Went here for lunch. Totally surprised us with the exceptional quality of the food. The staff were great and to top it off the prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back soon.
Love it here, go every week for cheeses & bacon scones & the caramel shortbread is to die for.
Been twice for breakfast and both times the food was great. Right on the doorstep too..., would definitely recommend 👍
This cafe is a little gem!! The coffee is second to none (in my humble opinion!) and the eggs benedict with salmon was perfection. I can't wait to go back and try some lunch time dishes.
Go here regularly food is always fab staff are very friendly and welcoming, service is spot on. I have recommended it to friends who have been and they loved it.
I cannot understand the negative comment re dirty glasses. This eatery is wonderful; I go at least once a month and take everyone I know, there. Food good, decor and cleanliness good, staff are very very nice, prices are very competitive and to top it all my dog loves it after a long walk. Only one complaint....didn’t know you were closed on a Tuesday...had to go somewhere else: me, my friend and my dog were gutted 😫
First time visit yesterday & not disappointed, a friendly bustling little place, the service was quick & polite.
The food, we had panini's, was fantastic, say no more.
Incredible food, beautiful views right on the sea front, staff are super friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to come back again!
I stayed overnight in Whitley Bay and wanted to find a coffee shop on Sunday morning. I happened across Cafe 19.
As an evangelist, my calling is carrying a 12’ cross as I travel throughout the UK, although I’m looking forward to moving to the north-east later this year.
So, going back to the cross, I like to give barista’s a challenge. The barista at my local Caffe Nero in Sussex did a cross on my latte. The challenge is can the barista make my latte how I like it? If they can, I pay if they can’t pay. I have had lots of free lattes and some wonderful conversations about the Lord Jesus Christ. It was the same here but, I want to acknowledge the skill of the barista…
The attached photographs show the original cross, the cross from Cafe 19 and the cross that I carry which prompted the original cross.
Welcomed both us and our dog inside. Great window view but most importantly the food was great…highly recommend the seafood linguine. Sadly they were out of mussels but the dish was packed with everything else. Great cosy feel to the place and the decor was amazing.
What a lovely find today for lunch. The food was outstanding (mussels and seafood linguine) and the service very, very friendly. Also the coffee was very good and the cakes looked lovely, too. We'll definitely come back.
Very good experience! There was no free inside table when we walked in. We were offered to wait outside on the seaside terrace and asked inside as soon as a table was available. Cake was very good. Coffee too. Beautifully decorated shop. Nice toilets with a secluded corner for a changing table and a chair for nursing. 👍 Kids menue and babyccino available. Access to the beach just across the street and big playground around the corner.
Great find amongst other anonymous eateries along the Whitley bay seafront. Decor is fun, quirky, and the wall comments caught my eye as well as the inventive range of cakes. My hummingbird cake was truly scrumptious, moist raspberry walnut sponge with hints of pineapple topped with lemon cheesecake cream decorated with banana, raspberries and extra toasted walnuts. Yum, is it making your mouth water. My son's dark millionaire caramel chocolate shortbread slice was equally delicious. We also looked on in awe as the other guy at our table wolfed down a gargantuan beef burger n chips garnished with fresh coleslaw and salad. My family know l like to write reviews so l was told l couldn't possibly give it less than 5 stars. I would have anyway. Being endorsed by a whole family means no one can be disappointed by choosing this place to eat. Definitely worth a visit. Wish wish l could get hummingbird cake in London and the decaff Cappuccino was great too.

Covid restrictions in place, booking tables in advance is not available so a queuing system is in place currently. Didn't wait very long at all to be seated. Menu choice for breakfast was great and the prices were good value, food and drinks served quickly, one staff member allocated per table, Crystal was very attentive and helpful. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Great new place on the seafront. Lovely decor. Seats inside and out, looking out on to the sea. Great for brunch. Excellent food and good value. Watch out for the time between brunch and lunch where only limited food is available.
Stayed one night in Whitley bay and stumbled across The Beach house. Booked a table as dog friendly and so glad we did. Very welcoming and food was fantastic. Starters of Prawns , Squid,Veg rolls and the cajun chicken were really nice. The two burgers and pulled pork nacho's that the grandaughters had were again lovely. The whole icing on the cake was a nice cold pint of Neck Oil. Great Experience. Thanks from the 4 of us and Florence the dog.
Had a delicious breakfast from here pre lockdown and we cannot wait to go back. The staff are a little busy, but the sun was out and the place was packed. Sometimes I get a little annoyed at the quality of breakfasts and think that I could be better, hot and very tasty!!
