This place is a hidden gem, loved the traditional feel. It took me back to going in when I was a kid. Popped in for lunch with the family. Lovely food; plenty of variety and tasty. The loose leaf tea was a welcome brew. The milkshakes all freshly made and full of ice cream. The service was friendly and helpful especially with 8 of us deciding what to order. Would pop back in next time I am in town.

A lovely traditional independent cafe, with lovely authentic coffe. The real gem here is the home baked cakes which are to dies for. I highly recommend the love cake which is light compared to others I have tried.

Lovely cafe which we were informed about about from a local lady. Allows dogs and very friendly staff. Good prices and great food & cakes all home made. My dog made himself at home and the great staff worked around him. (Sorry 😁)

Absolutely love this place. Best toasties, sandwiches and cakes (homemade) in town. Traditional coffees and teas with shakes and hot chocolates are like a hug in a mug. They’re always happy to create any concoction that your heart could desire. Well over 100 years old shows that this family cafĂ© has stood the test of time. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Disabled access is by the rear and toilets for patrons only, what’s not to like. Friendly staff and a great ‘craic’ with the locals. Give it a whirl.

Loved the place. We came to Whitehaven for a breakfast and a coffee and we were not impressed by the selection of cafes and pubs. We found this place hidden away and it was perfect. The staff are really friendly and the food is delicious. The furniture is a bit dated but it adds to the atmosphere. The coffee is some of the best I've tasted.

The oldest business in Whitehaven is still kicking for a reason, the coffee and food is good, the staff are nice, and it's full of interesting trinkets from the past. A great experience thanks guys

A good old fashioned British cafe. Basic British grub of great quality and generous sizes! Cheap too. Unpretentious. A welcome find and a national treasure.
