One of those pubs that you'd miss if it wasn't there. Called in today and delighted to find it packed out and everyone enjoying the beer garden. Great to see it busy ππ
Now that the long awaited renovation work is complete Kirsty and her 'team' are ensuring a warm welcome to all visitors, whether that is 'regulars', former customers returning to see how the work has progressed or first time passers by.
Good range of beers to suit all tastes, teas and coffees - and some basic foods while they find their feet - friendly company and a beer garden with the sound of a babbling brook, birdsong, chickens and sheep for neighbours and sunsets to die for.
Whats not to like?
Lovely place, not been for year's. Made really welcome by Kirsty. Made a cracking job of the refurbishment. Won't be long before we are back.
What a fabulous oasis. Gorgeous little pub nestled in the North York Moors. Great welcome by the charming licensee. Cask ale in such superb condition although simple the food was excellent and thoughtfully prepared and presented. Strongly recommended π
Lovely place to visit will be visiting again hopefully next year on our holidays
So sorry to hear that Pat died last June (2019). I have known this pub since the late 1950s and have spent many happy hours there over the years, especially during holidays in the 60s when the late Tom Rossiter was in charge. A great traditional pub in a great location.
Just stopped for coffee, lush it was too...mad chickens, sheep everywhere and lovely lady who served us....just my kind of place π
Nice little village pub, good prices and friendly atmosphere
A lovely country inn with real fires and a great pint of Wainwright after a hard morning on the North York Moors. Friendly and hospitable, food is currently limited to sandwiches though they're hoping to offer a fuller menu in the future. Nice beer garden with lovely views, highly recommended.
This pub has been totally refurbished. It is now extremely smart and clean. It has massively extended its garden drinking area with loads of new tables. It now sells cask ale. Wainwright and Landlord were on when we visited. Landlord was in excellent condition. They are serving toasted sandwiches while the kitchen is refurbished.
Great little pub that we are very happy to have back open in the village after months of hard work by the owners. Good beer at a good price and served with a smile. Fab spot for a rest on a walk, cycle or drive out π
Lovely country pub breathing life back into the village and community
From my previous visit to now, the contrast in this public house is transformational. Nice clean rooms, outdoor seating by a river, good real ale, friendly staff, food etc. They even had a game of bingo which was well attended with good banter. It is also reachable from Commondale railway station on the Esk Valley Line. Well worth a visit and I will definitely return.
Friendly little pub, lovely surroundings, really nice atmosphere would absolutely recommend to go for a drink if passing.
Had a cheeky pint at the Cleveland Inn on our walk from Guisborough. We had a warm and friendly welcome from the staff, very clean and a nice pint
Set in a quiet, lovely village in the North Yorkshire Moors, The Cleveland Inn has been family run for over 50yrs, A perfect refreshment spot to tie in with your walk
The friendliest landlady I have met. Made me most welcome, what a lovely lady. Thank you. !
Excellent refurbished, friendly local pub, not yet serving full meals but planned for the future. Wainwright beer on tap was great.
Lovely pub, lovely people.
