Nice spot to sit outside and enjoy the hustle and bustle. The menu is nice and food was hot and fresh. Bit expensive for what you get. Veggie lasagne and salmon with potatoes came to £40 plus two cokes. But its in a prime location. Staff were nice and the inside was clean and modern.

We visited Whitby to sample the fabulous fish and chips. We weren't disappointed. The food was amazing and catered for dairy and gluten free. Even offering Gluten free vinegar, our server Nancy was a star. She was amazing with our girls and made them feel so special. Emily our eldest wants to go back just to see her ....thank you all x

We dine at the Quayside a couple of times every year (For over 5 years) and the quality of the food food has always been consistently high. This has to be one of the best places to enjoy delicious Fish and Chips in Whitby. The food, see pics, is some of the best fish you will have, with a variety of portion sizes from small to jumbo. I also like the idea of a good range of sides, so you can add anything from peas and gravy to Scampi or Pineapple. The batter is crispy and not too thick. The service is friendly and professional. They understand allergies/food intolerances and have a nice clear guide to help. The interior has a 'designed' feel, with William Morris type wallpaper and although there are a number of tables it doesn't feel cramped. There is an upstairs, but they don't tend to use this for the dining now and its looks like its set up for a bar. This is a real shame as the booth seating upstairs has tall windows overlooking the harbour. I would recommend you book as its always busy.

Me and my boyfriend were away in Whitby for a birthday weekend and happened to come across quayside. We noticed the sign that said ‘cocktail bar open’, I was instantly interested. Upon arrival I was super impressed with the decor as it was modern, cozy and very aesthetically pleasing. We was greeted by the lovely Sophie who seated us next to an amazing view. The cocktails were perfect and had the right amount of strength to them. Dan, catered to my own personal taste and would make cocktails that he thought I would enjoy and he was right every-time. All of the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The vibe was immaculate and the music was very trendy and upbeat. It wasn’t super busy like the other pubs which is wonderful. I did question why it wasn’t full and I think it is because not many people know of the place. I can not recommend this place enough. I will most definitely be visiting quayside again. Thank you to all of the team for going above and beyond and making our trip even more enjoyable!!

We went to Whitby last weekend and really glad we stumbled into Quayside. A lot of the pubs were really busy with lots of people standing around and nowhere to sit. This place had the most amazing cocktails and chilled atmosphere not to mention the most friendliest staff. The décor inside is also really pretty and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a chilled night of drinking! Thank you to Sophie and the the other bartender (sorry I don't remember his name!!)

Delicious lunch at the Quayside recently. My friend had cod and chips and I persuaded her to try the mushy peas (she's fussy about them) and she pronounced everything delicious! As a vegetarian I can recommend the falafel burger. Efficient, friendly service, and a patient queue snaking outside the main doors, so clearly it has a great reputation!

Great food. We had haddock and plaice and they were so fresh. Staff were not just pleasant and polite but friendly and good humoured too. We sat outside because we had our dog with us. But the outside area is accessed only from inside and fenced off from the pavement so there is not that worry of passers by treading on a tail, or our dog wanting to greet every other that walked past, so was relaxing as well as delicious. I didn't have dessert but my husband said his sticky toffee pudding was better than he has had elsewhere.

Got a small haddock and homemade tartar sauce. Service was quick at the counter and the meal was utterly delicious. The batter was thin and crispy, the fish was meaty but tender and the tartar outshone competitors of the town. I would definitely recommend this place for value and quality. 5*

Lovely fish and chips. On the pricey side, especially when eating in but fairly standard for Whitby. Just a shame the service wasn't attentive and nothing to entertain the kids - I'm sure they used to have colouring for them. Nice decor with lots of old Whitby photos. Toilets nice and clean.

I had gluten free cod and chips and it was beautiful. My boyfriend had scampi and chips and he enjoyed it too. Tartare sauce was a bit weird though, tasted like mayo!

Awesome fish and chips, and friendly staff, absolutely great for gluten-free, even brought us the GF vinegar. Love whitby and love fresh fish. Ps, the Irish curry sauce was tasty 😋...

I celebrated my 70th birthday visiting Whitby. My daughter booked a family table for 6 adults and 4 children. As I had my dog with me, the staff arranged an outside table for us. The whole experience was excellent with a very extensive menu and served by polite and friendly staff. The restaurant is immaculate, and having a lift available was greatly appreciated.

We had the small cod and chips with mushy peas which was plenty for us. They were beautifully cooked. The staff were very pleasant and helpful the restaurant is spotlessly clean and the decor lovely. Can't fault it would highly recommend.

Great Fish and Chips! Maybe the best I've had in Whitby. We were a party of 13 and were sat upstairs in very pleasant surroundings. The service was good, and there were no complaints from anyone. Perhaps a bit pricey at £17.50 for a regular cod and chips, but the whole package made it worth it. Would certainly go back there.

Great fish and chip restaurant in Whitby. The food is excellent, one of the best cod and chips I've had so far. I was there in a group of 13, and we were seated upstairs in a very pleasant space. The service was prompt, and there were no complaints from anyone in the group. Perhaps a little pricey with a regular cod and chips costing £17.50 but for me, it was worth it for the whole experience.

Really friendly staff in a lovely restaurant, there's an outdoor seating area where you can eat with your dogs. The only letdown was the fish and chips, really , the chips were obviously frozen and the fish slightly wet. It is a fantastic location and staff but not cheap and i remember their food being far better a couple of years before
