Spent a couple of days here. Lovely and clean. Bed is really comfy. Views from our room were amazing. Could see all round. The food was lovely. Didn't have to wait too long, either. Would definitely stop here again

Firstly, a great location right at the side of the quay. We have stayed in several rooms now, from a large quayside room to smaller rear rooms, and they are all extremely well decorated and furnished, with very comfy beds. Great value, especially if you go off-season. Another great thing is you can just go downstairs and have a great value breakfast in the Wetherspoon pub.

Fantastic stay yet again. This is my third year in a row staying at The Angel and I’ll be making next year my 4th for sure. The staff in the hotel reception can’t do enough for you and are super friendly. If you wish they’ll service your room every day with fresh linen and towels between 2 and 3pm usually, as long as you’re not in the room. The rooms are warm and comfortable with everything you might need. Super handy to have an iron and board in your room, saving you having to go down to Reception to ask for one. Fantastic location too right on the harbour in the centre of everything. Fantastic value too especially in the off season, and a perfect base if you want to explore the Cleveland Way as I did. Perfect stay, already looking forward to returning!

Stayed here for a few days in February. Great location, over looking the harbour and nothing was too much for staff. We had a room at front and we had a bit of fun with the heating at first but that was soon sorted. Now the bad points. Don't know what the legal gap at the bottom of a fire door is, but this one had a gap of at least an inch (see picture). We notice the window, it was two units put together but there where the joint was you could see day light through. On the Thursday it rained all day and it came in the gap, making puddles on the windowsill. It was my wife's birthday and she had her cards on the windowsill and they all got wet. We did report this and was told it would be looked in to. The food was good most of the time, but there was a couple of things. First morning I had scrambled eggs on toast, they seem to been using very small eggs if they used 3. Also a couple of times it looked has if they only showed the bread the toaster as it was mostly white. Apart from these few things we had a good stay.

Lovely room and great location. Only downside is you can't order food to the room. You have to go the the bar order it to a table and then carry it up to the room. When you're ordering for 2 adults and a toddler it makes it impossible as you can't carry all the food yourself but someone needs to stay int he room with the child. Luckily the local dominoes is next door! Much easier 😂

Had a nice meal, drinks fairly priced, plenty of room. Didn't realise we had to go collect our own knives and forks and condiments. But apart from that. Decent pub

A lovely and serene atmosphere if I'm being honest. Enough tables, variety of meals and drinks on the menu(From breakfast meal to dinner). A very Wonderful customer service. One of the best places to go eat and chill with friends and family if you visit whitby. Highly recommended.

Did not stay here so nothing known about the rooms. Food was good basic grub and beer at a reasonable price. A pint of Doombar was £3.99 which is not bargain basement but cheaper than many other places. Staff were good if a little busy.

It was one of the busiest days of the year and the place was packed. We ordered on line and only waited a few minutes. Great service!

Cleanest Hotel have ever stopped at. Service impeccable. Was going to boom again but weekends are fully booked for months ahead. Definitely will recommend. Staff deserve a pat on back. 👍

We always enjoy the value in Wetherspoons and this is one of our favourites because it's in one of our favourite places to visit. Love snacking on some wings while we're having a few drinks.

4 of us Went for breakfast on a very busy and wet Sunday morning. First order and drinks went well with a great breakfast, food was hot and tasty. Service after then went down hill rapidly with extremely slow bar staff taking their time to serve the very long queue at the bar.
