Angel Fisheries was one of the few fish & chip shops open during our recent trip out to Whitby so we stopped by for something to eat together. I had a chip butty with a small sausage and my partner had the same. Service was attentive & the food was fresh & hot. I didn't find the food particularly tasty, as the batter seemed somewhat plain, but I had the usual condiments & tartare sauce (a tad overpriced at £1.10 per flat tub) which helped the flavour. Good value for money and sit in price was the same as take out. No real complaints here.
Now then, we arrived from Edmonton Canada 🇨🇦 to Whitby and on the recommendation of many, decided to tuck into the most incredible fish and chips on this Earth. The piccys speak for themselves and we sure loved the whiter than white fish and the chips were divine. My friend had his with curry sauce and has decided that it's the best he has had in the UK. Sat with a lovely couple from Milton Keynes and we have all agreed 10 out of 10 for the food. Forget anywhere else and go here. Thank you Rebecca for your service and of course the rest of the crew in the shop. Well done folks ❤️🇬🇧🇨🇦❤️
Fantastically fresh fish and chips in a small, no frills restaurant. No alcohol-just good food and soft drinks. Perfect.
Three of us went here for a traditional fish and chips experience whilst we were touring Whitby and it was a pleasant one.
✔️ Reasonably priced fish and chips (around £9 per cod and chips portion). We found most of the other places around Whitby bay sells fish and chips for a rip-off price (e.g. £17-£21 per cod and chips portions for dine in) and some had a massive queue to enter.
✔️A nice selection of menu including calamari, whitebait, sausages, sauses, gravy & etc.
✔️Friendly, welcoming staff.
✔️Decent seating space (probably around 20-25 people can sit in) and dining area.
⚠️️We expected the taste to be special, given the fact it was in Whitby. This is traditional fish and chips and the taste could be improved. However, it was a decent portion of fish and chips :)
Thank you very much.
I have been there to get the famous fish and chips and it was delicious. Myself and my wife had a lovely time there, the place is clean, friendly staff and delicious food. Highly recommended to go there and even if you would like to take-away, you will be surprised with the flavour!!
Chippy in Whitby. Small seating area, which was dog friendly. Nicely cooked fish with great crispy batter. Only negative 80p for a small pot of decanted ketchup.
Absolutely delicious 😋 Fish and Chips 🍟. While everyone else was queuing up at restaurants we were eating the Best.
Angel Fisheries is Hotel. I wish to go back and have some meals. Well trained staffs , handling clients with dignity.
Management should think of expansion, some clients are lacking seats inside, hence tend to hang outside, waiting for space.
Dangerous enough big white birds roam ready to take meals from clients hands.
Takeaway or eat in . We ate in on one of the tables straight out of the box ! Toilets on the premises. Nice change and lot cheaper than some of its famous neighbours.
In the abundance of fish and chip shops there are in Whitby, it was decided to go to this one and I have to say it was a cracking choice!!
The service was very friendly, it was quick and the food stayed hot for a good amount of time. It cost £12 for two portions of chips, two portions of curry sauce, a regular sausage and a soft drink which I feel is a very reasonable pricing.
The food itself was lovely, chips were perfectly cooked and the sausage was good and the curry sauce was probably one of the best I have had out there for sure. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in Whitby.
A great chippy, decent prices, and the fish was excellent. Cooked perfectly, crispy batter but moist soft fish. Good portion size. Curry sauce was lovely. No queuing either!
Small cod and chips - the perfect size for lunch. Freshly cooked. A sign saying which boats the catch is from, what the potatoes are and where they are sourced (local to Whitby). Home made tartar sauce. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. 4 tables inside to eat in. Did I mention the home made tartar sauce? Nom nom.
Must say that we enjoyed our Haddock and Chips to share between us. We are small eaters and love Haddock. With the Mushy Peas and Curry Sauce and Scraps and Bread Bun 😋😋😋. Very delicious 😋😋😋 indeed....
It's my go-to chippy in Whitby, staff are always super helpful, fish is always super fresh and it's a whole quid cheaper than most others.Cod and chips £9.95 in the heart of Whitby.
Located just behind the main harbour it is a small establishment serving up excellent fish and chips. There are several tables within if you prefer to eat in. The staff are friendly and helpful. It beats the main chippies on the front by far, being less busy also. It is cash only but there is an ATM round the corner. We'll worth a visit.
Best fish and chips in Whitby I think. Lovely cuppa too. Can't wait to go back.
