Lovely food, nice atmosphere, great service and dog friendly to top it off. We had Halloumi Fries / Chicken Tenders to start, followed by Cheese & Leek pie / Whitby Scampi as mains. Would definitely recommend and visit again when in the area.

Very good rooms and restaurant. Location outside Whitby but easy transportation by bus or taxi. (Only downside was a treacherous path between the hotel rooms and the main building. Wasn’t cleared or salted sufficiently).

Just got back home from having Sunday Carvery at Penny Hedge in Whitby ! We had 2 pints of Brooklyn Beer on offer at £5.50 it was a lovely smooth craft beer really enjoyed it ! The waitresses were very friendly Suzanne went out of her way to make us welcome plus a younger waitress I didn’t catch her name who was friendly & eager to please ! We are new to the area I ordered a Vegetarian Carvery & had 3 different choices I choose a Lentil bake with my Yorkshire pudding parsnips carrots both roasted in maple syrup they were a delight…plus sprouts roast potatoes & peas with veggie gravy what can I say my plate was empty I ate every morsel Well Penny Hedge you have become my favour place to eat in Whitby I’ll be back !

We visited for lunch had the lunch time special. Very tasty, hot, fresh & great value. I had 3 courses for less then £20. I sadly forgot to take a picture of my pudding as looked so yummy the crumble I dived straight in. Hubby chose 2 courses for less then £15. Images are mushroom soup , gammon and fish goujons. Nice atmosphere with a xmas feel.

Absolutely delightful Sunday dinner experience at the Penny Hedge Whitby! From start to finish, everything was impeccable. Suzanne’s friendly customer service truly stood out, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. The food was top notch, served with attention to detail and bursting with flavour. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing Sunday meal. We’ll definitely be returning for more tasty food and the all of the staffs warm hospitality. Five stars all around!

This is the best place, by far, that we have stayed at in Whitby. The staff were exceptional when checking in and were really warm and friendly. The room, the location and everything about the place was excellent. We will be staying here again for sure. Although we didn’t eat here, the food looked amazing and was so convenient having that service on your doorstep. The amenities were amazing that were close by too. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable weekend!

Able to accommodate me as a sole traveller on Easter Sunday, even though I had not booked. They have a dog friendly area inside the pub which I think is great, the food was fantastic! I had the bacon & cheese burger and it was the best I had ever tasted, even the coleslaw was tasty, and I never usually bother with that.

Lovely place for a meal. Staff were great, food was nice, and it was fantastic to see a little non-alcoholic cocktails section on the drinks menu! Been to Whitby a few times but never been before and we're glad we tried it.
