I’ve lived just outside the Whitby area my whole life and I had no idea that this cafe existed. My partner suggested we go as we were working out in the area and get a coffee. The decor was fantastic very fresh and up market but with a relaxed feel and it’s nice to see they do themed nights. Steak nights, French, tapas. Hot chocolate was luxury standard. Super friendly staff very chatty and welcoming. Perfect place to go on a rainy afternoon for a beverage or something to eat. Theres a canvas sign that says cafe but I’ve never seen it and passed many times. I do feel it’s because it blends in with all the other canvas signs around it. I wonder if a sandwich board style sign might be more noticeable to passersby. Tends to be the kind of sign that you associate more with cafes.
We had a really yummy breakfast today at Coast! The Avo Feta Smash is sooo delicious 😋 And one of the best coffees in the Whitby area!! We can totally recommend.
I love this place!, its the second time I've been since lockdown was eased. Its the only place I feel safe, and 'normal', considering the world's going crazy. First time my daughter booked and we sat inside, just four tables, spaced out, no hustle and bustle, no one in our personal space. Staff are soo lovely, very reassuring, welcoming and friendly. The food is beautiful! Caters for vegans, vegetarians, meat eaters, people with gluten allergies ect. Second time I went with my friend and we sat outside in the sun, again tables spaced apart, everyone has their own area to feel safe in. The cakes are out of this world, you have to sample the gluten free carrot cake!!!
Called here as a halfway point on the Cleveland Way Coastal Walk. On the cliff top there is a sign saying cafe. From the coastal path you walk up a very steep hill, through a very steep campsite and eventually you are there. I consider myself quite fit but even I was out of puff!
But the cafe was clean, the staff welcoming with a nice menu to choose from.
We had a ham and cheese sandwich which I forgot to take a photo off. But I must say it was probably one of the best sandwiches we’ve had.
Called in for a morning Break and coffee on our cycle ride. Great service, one of our regular watering holes
Lovely place and friendly service. Excellent waffles, and coffee!
We visited as a family of 4 for Sunday lunch, What a lovely experience!
The food was delicious, the portions generous, everything tasted so fresh & well made.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly owners/ staff.
We will 100% be returning & I would highly recommend to others.
thank you!
Lovely place to take a break from the Cinder Trail or the Cleveland Trail. It's not far off from either. They have a wonderful outdoor space, with comfortable chairs and sofas to sit on and the staff were warm and inviting. We only had drinks, but the menu looked to have a nice variety.
We were staying on site and had breakfast one morning and some drinks in the afternoon. The stotties were very big and really nice, as were the cakes. Thanks!
I’d like to start by saying I have 31 years of expert eating experience. Under new ownership the food here is absolutely insane. We had the meze starter & bruschetta and it was perfect in every way. The food is cooked fresh & tastes amazing. Well done & we will be back tomorrow 😃
