A lovely coffee shop where we sat outside enjoying the hustle and bustle of the high street. The staff are really lovely. The coffee is so good and the cakes are delicious and well presented.

Very compact downstairs but a few more tables upstairs. Good selection of cakes which were a good, healthy Yorkshire size. Unfortunately just a little bit on the dry side. Coffees were hot and tasty but the latte was very small for a latte. Service was quick and the lady was very polite.

A lovely little cafe, with friendly & helpful staff. There’s a huge selection of cakes to choose from. We had the mandarin gateaux & coffee and walnut cake, both generous portions, with plenty of filling & tasted amazing. The coffees were really nice too. I’d definitely visit again next time!

Always wanted to visit this cafe but usually it's heaving. However this weekend Whitby was great and quiet, just like it used to be. So we got to visit and it didn't disappoint. Obviously olde fashioned, recycled furniture. Quirky rooms and stairs all in a slightly Marie Antoinette theme. Coffee was fantastic, also do alternative milks. Carrot cake was outstanding, homemade mince pies I'm told also lush and caramel shortbread was sweet. Staff lovely, good atmosphere would visit again and recommend.

We were on holiday in Whitby and decided to go in for afternoon tea, to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. I love this place! The sandwiches were delicious, the scones were fabulous and the cake slices were enormous. The rooms upstairs were quaint and atmospheric, try and get a window table. The staff there are really friendly and hard working, up and down those steep narrow stairs all day! Can't wait to go back!

This is a delightful cafe. We had chocolate cake and a scone with a pot of tea. My wife is a connoisseur of scones as she always bakes them herself and always has them in cafes. This was the best scone she had ever eaten in a cafe. The chocolate cake was also excellent. The staff are lovely and the tea room nicely decorated with lots of character.

Amazing little tearoom for an affordable lunch. Their cakes were so good, we had a chocolate-based tart with caramel, cream and fudge pieces. It’s very small inside so we couldn’t go in due to have a pram, but they have some seating outside which is nice to just people watch!

The cakes are as lush as they look from the outside. It was a real treat, and we got a chance to try a bit of everything from the lemon meringue to the coffee walnut cake, all accompanied by a nice tea. They're quite filling and portions are big! Better open a big spot to make space for these. It was worth the extra pennies for sure! The place is super cozy inside, though people didn't seem very welcoming of a pair of youngins in the space, which was odd. Hahah.

Absolutely incredible cakes. We had the coffee and walnut cake, and the ginger cake. Generous slices, well filled and full of flavour. The pot of tea for two also substantial. Definitely worth a visit, before or after walking the 199 steps.

I went with a friend our usual place wasn't open so called in here. We were not disappointed,my friend had a pot of tea and I had a large black americano and we had a fat rascal each which were absolutely delicious with cherries on top under a sugar glaze and inside full of mixed peel. So tasty and very filling. It's a very old building and the seating area upstairs is very quaint. The stairs going up are very tight and windy, but it's an old building. The staff are very kind and helpful, will definitely call again next time I'm in Whitby.
