Beautuful place very old pub like x which was a refreshing change from Weatherspoons where they all look the same x friendly sfaff x
But its the food x absolutely beautuful food x we had the meat pie with veg and home made chips x mouth wateringly good x but go when you are hungry the portion sizes are massive x really goid night not too expensuve x highly recommend x
The black bull's food was really good the staff were friendly and the puddings were lovely aswel I would definitely go there again I would recommend it to everyone.

We had an excellent Sunday carvery today. The cooking was delicious and the food was plentiful so unfortunately we didn't have room for a pudding. The dessert menu looked very good though so we are looking forward to trying them out on the next visit. We would thoroughly recommend The Black Bull, Ugthorpe and hope to visit again soon!
We came to The Black Bull tonight for my Nannas 70th birthday meal and Wow, what a meal it was!! Everything was just perfect. From the warm friendly greeting upon arriving to the service and not to forget the food. Best steak I have had in a very long time. Everything was just how we hoped it would be and more. We will definitely be returning and recommending to family and friends.
Fabulous food really nice ambience. Best bit actual lamb and pork chops on the mixed grill. No dried up chicken breast here�

My wife and I are regulars in the Black Bull. It is family run and they are all very nice and welcoming. The food is excellent particularly if you like a large portion. I definitely recommend it.
An "out of the way" delight. The home cooked food here is excellent and the portion sizes are very generous - you will not come away hungry! The chicken parmesan meal - the cheddar covered one in the pictures - is amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the journey for a meal here.
Whilst staying in some local accommodation we visited this pub 3 times and had no issues at all.
The place is traditionally warm snug and relaxed with no modern distractions.
Food was very tasty, wholesome & very generous. Not often that we can’t manage a dessert.
Staff are very relaxed, polite and attentive.
In challenging times this place is a breath of fresh air.
The food in the Black Bull was superb. Me and my dad had a brilliant meal and I had the sticky toffee pudding with custard and caramel sauce. I have to say it was scrumptious. Highly recommended 😃

Eaten here tonight and it was fantastic! Last minute table secured as they had a party booking. Warm welcome by friendly staff. Great beer and varied food menu. The chicken curry was amazing. Good value too.

The food is amazing. Try out the giant Yorkshire pudding with either chicken or beef with gravy, veg, and chips or potatoes - they have this on everyday and it's gorgeous.
