Amazing atmosphere and very friendly staff and absolutely lovely food (thank you Chef). They whole place has a warm and relaxed decor and vibe, no rush, no drama, just relax and enjoy the experience. A great find that we'll return to whenever we are in the area. I recommend you try it for a quick coffee and cake or their fuller most delightful dishes, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

A very stylish environment with good throws at being great cuisine. Very good staff, well run. A drinks selection a notch above even the trendiest of places, showing a real understanding of modern trends in gins and cocktails while maintaining a very good wine list that will please those that know nothing and pick entry level and equally those that know their stuff and get tradition and innovation affordably. The food was very nice. Of the three of us, two were very happy and one was content. I'll not end on their note because overall everything was very good, but even as one of the two omnivores, I noticed their vegetarian option was not only undersized but a little simple and, according to them, somewhat standard. Not bad. But not exciting like our fish and meat were. So ending on a good note it deserves, the sea bass and beef were handled well with good sauces and lively complementing vegetables. Don't be scared to turn up early and have drinks first in the back room. It's fun with some really quirky decoration. I like this place as does all my family and I think it deserves more custom and I hope it keeps doing very good food.

Amazing food! Absolutely loved it! So happy that the first place we could go to after lockdown was eased is this restaurant. Superb service and of course incredible food. One of the best mussels I’ve had as well as the steak. Definitely recommend!!!

Lovely cosy and intimate restaurant. The service was great - very personable and friendly waitors. The meal was really tasty...but presentation was lacking a little (for us food snobs)! I had the catch of the day, but I would recommend trying the red meat as this was raved about by the waitor. Overall, lovely little restaurant, good service and tasty food!

Amazing food! Very nice atmosphere and outstanding service! I took out my girlfriend for our anniversary and we got treated very good! Only wish they had more vegetarian options.

I have a dairy allergy. This place let me have a 3 course meal. The first time in 18mths. The food was amazing. Not at one point did I think the best part is missing. You know what I'm on about if you have an allergy. Thank you so much. I also gave them a £25 tip to say thanks and they came back to offer it. Top place and will defiantly get her again.

We was very welcomed as we walked in with lovely friendly waitresses. Excellent food, we both had the beef bourguignon which was delicious and for deserts I had the pavlova which was to die for! My partner had tiramisu which was lovely too. We are here for the bank holiday weekend and if we could get in again tomorrow we would but sadly they are booked up. We would highly recommend this restaurant for there great food and excellent service.

Apologies to Mademoiselle's Cafe as the one star I left previously was because my phone died whilst doing the review. Unfortunately you appear to have me mixed up with another customer as I had a lovely experience with my partner. I do not have a daughter and it wasn't my birthday. So I would just say that you need to be more careful in the future when responding to reviews. We had been in for lunch on the Thursday as it was our first day and visit to Whitby and I had seen on Trip Advisor how lovely the place looked. We travel a lot abroad and are always looking out for little gems and this is one. The decor is beautiful. So much attention to detail and I loved the chandaliers, the ornate mirrors and beautiful cut glass wine glasses. I sent photos immediately to my French friends to make them jealous. As the food was so lovely (I recommend the chicken salad) and the staff were so friendly we asked if we could get a table for the evening and were lucky enough to get a cancellation for the Friday evening albeit a tad early at 6.30pm. It is popular so book ahead. The early evening did not disappoint. This place also distills its own gin we were told another feather in its cap.The starters were delicous particularly the black pudding with caramelized apples and onions and the main meal of duck was very tasty. The staff were very attentive and it was a lovely evening and I would recommend coming here for a deliciously, decadent French evening. Unfortunately I have not received an apology for the mistaken identity as of yet.

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and staff. I really enjoyed the duck confit and my family loved the steaks and other delights. I mean it is kinda expensive but that's what you get for quality.

Beautiful french bistro with a cosy intimate feel. The food was delicious and authentic with a good selection. The camembert starter was good, the standout was the fillet au poivre which was cooked to perfection with a beautiful spicy peppercorn sauce. The service was fantastic with attentive and friendly wait staff. Would definitely visit again.

Chose this venue due to the high number of positive reports, and a love of French food,, not disappointed at all, fantastic service,, great food well presented, and a good portion size,,. The ambiance just right for a small bistro with and eclectic mix of fittings etc,,. , Everything our party chose was spot on my beef was excellent, but I also had an eye on my friends cassoulet which also looked mouth watering, nice wines with prices mid 20s,,. Highly recommended,. Will definitely return

Such an unusual restaurant. Staff friendly, food quite good but a little pricy. Good for a special occasion. Best espresso martini ever.
