Went for Sunday Roast, the best we've had around this area, a choice of three meats and a vegetarian option. Portion size perfect, lovely tender meat, plenty of vegetables and the finest roast potatoes I've had in a long time. The price was several pounds less than other places we've been to and if
We had a family Sunday lunch last weekend, excellent food, great service in a relaxed environment. We were a group of eleven with three young children. The staff were very patient and attentive to my grandchildren. Well done guys we will definitely eat there again đź‘Ś
Perfect spot for a stop on the Test Way. Sinday lunch menu was just beef, chicken, pork or nut roast. Plenty of vegetables and gravy. Very reasonable cost. Only let down by some awful Yorkshire puddings.
We came in for an evening meal. The pub serves good food and the service is friendly.
On my travels I popped in to this inn that's oozing with history on the off chance that they had a bit of grub for lunch. The lad behind the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. The food was pretty good, especially since it's a temporary menu from the new owners but most impor
good village pub… friendly staff & management… excellent pub grub! good luck to all!
We've stayed here before a couple of times and chose it because of its location and character. It's an old pub, built in 1611, and is set in a charming village not far from the A303. We had a double room overlooking the garden, with a wash basin, and a shared bathroom. It was very clean and comfo
Staying in the village so visited “the local” for dinner. A warm welcome on arrival, food ordered and was on the table in quick time. An excellent homemade steak & ale pie was a good choice. A varied menu on offer. A must place to visit if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed
Our first time visiting on Monday, we stopped by for lunch and were so impressed with the setting, the food (we can highly recommend the pies and the lemon meringue ice-cream cake!) and most of all, the service. We had a lovely lady look after us and, although she appeared to be by herself, she coul
Very friendly staff. Steak and ale pie was delicious with pastry top and bottom and not a soggy bottom to be seen!!! Chips "awfully lovely" as my husband put it. I had the roast pork which was equally tasty and came with loads of vegetables. Oh dear was I meant share them !!!!!! An enjoyable quick S
Nice and big pub, they have good ciders.
I have used this pub throughout the long Covid period, whenever they have been allowed to open. Taking a boisterous Husky into a pub serving food is often quite difficult, if allowed at all by the landlord. The staff here have always been polite, helpful, and understanding, even when asked to produc
A lovely little pub in a beautiful village. Dog friendly really clean. Small details made it feel as if you were welcome. Couldn't fault the food and the owners
We lucked out with this place, not only brilliant fast friendly service but also nice surroundings inside and outside the pub. The best bit was mixing with the locals who welcomed us with open arms and joined us into their group. Went in for one pint and stayed for 3 hours.(Many more pints were had)
Absolutely beautiful Pub/restaurant staff were so welcoming and made us feel like locals the food was wonderful and we will be visiting again soon would definitely recommend.
Made to feel welcome as soon as we stepped through the door, menus provided, drinks orders taken and delivered quickly, orders taken, again delivered promptly, mains well presented, piping hot, and delicious ( we opted for the pies they specialise in) Great relaxed atmosphere, staff very pleasant an
